I wish text to image did not exist but there is no doubt but grudgingly these images are very impressive. I feel the skills a lot of us have devoted our skills to learning how to model and render are almost redundant. But that felling will be felt by many. Doctors, lawyers, musicians and admin etc Jus saying. What others feel about AI

@solo said: The problem I have is many of my programs like render apps have materials mapped to certain drives, if I start changing stuff around I will lose all my texture mapping, so, Is there anyway I can transfer my materials folder (57GB) to a new drive and still keep the paths without having to remap all models again? Probably best way to handle this is via symlinks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_symbolic_link Example with Thea materials, first backup "C:\ProgramData\Thea Render\Materials". Delete the material folder "Materials". Create junction pointing to a new empty folder (d:\Thea Render\Materials) in other drive. Restore files back to "C:\ProgramData\Thea Render\Materials". For junction creation start cmd prompt via "Run as administrator". Then change path to C:\ProgramData\Thea Render Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C;\Users\pjl>cd "c;\programdata\Thea Render" c;\ProgramData\Thea Render> Now create junktion pointing to d:\Thea Render\Materials (Remember to create the new material folder first on d:). c;\ProgramData\Thea Render>mklink /J Materials "d;\Thea Render\Materials" Junction created for Materials <<===>> d;\Thea Render\Materials if you are going to use network drivers, then junktion will not work, you must use symlink /D -parameter instead of /J. c;\ProgramData\Thea Render>mklink /D Materials "x;\Thea Render\Materials" Where x: is mapped network drive. Or if you prefer UNC paths c;\ProgramData\Thea Render>mklink /D Materials \\server\Materials

When these cold callers ring me I just say "tell me more". I keep saying it over and over until they get the message I don't really care. Fantastic to hear them giving me their best sale pitch though. Try it. "Oh really, tell me more."

A mobius building - ingenious! But we might need to invent some new architectural terms when the technology catches up with the concept - is that surface a floor or a roof? Maybe a "Floof"?

Although I don't use Blender myself, I've seen and heard news about the new Dynamic Topology Sculpting, which should get released with next official version of Blender and is said to be a big step and breakthrough (if you like sculpting and blender)...

I think all this discussion can be put to bed right here: at least it does it for me. Donald in MathMagic Land If you want to bypass how the Golden Ratio worked in Music, and go right to architecture and art scroll to about 7:08 All truth can be found in cartoons.

@bep said: Hello Ken, I am using Double-cad, please send me an example of the problem file per p.m. I wil see if i can be of any help. Bep I have Double-CAD, but rarely use it. Didn't try the file on Double-CAD, just believe that Double-CAD is a subset of TurboCAD and could have the same problem. Didn't mean to imply that Double-CAD did have the problem. Files been corrected. Thanks for the offer. Ken

I think the best part of Australia was the people. Yeah they have some social problems like everywhere else but they sure are nice to strangers IMO.

@daniel said: Thanks for the suggestions. I've already checked for hidden files (no luck) Cannot find an AppDate folder, nor the temp folder suggested. I am contacting the computer gurus who built the machine and set it up; there is an issue with my CAD program, as well. Oh, the joys of a new computer! You can use following variables in startmenu search field: %PROGRAMDATA% %LOCALAPPDATA% %APPDATA% %temp% more http://ss64.com/nt/syntax-variables.html

the sites down, must be the rush of SketchUcation users zooming on over... it sounds a bit like what you can do with webkit and the objectiveC plugin on a mac. but that's all local and mac only. john
