Look, for example at the video done at the Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona, Spain. This is just a teaser, the whole thing can be found on Youtube, among many others.
Amazing.
They do a lot of projections on buildings, beside many other multimedia production.
Maybe someday a plugin (or an advanced version of SU) will allow the projection of images and movies on models.
Just ideas.

Each year there is a festival of lights in Lyon (France).
Some images here - but there are a bunch of videos on YouTube, too.
I was there once and indeed it's amazing to see it live.
