I'm also interested in Puteoli at the time of the Roman Empire - especially in its hayday 1.-2. century before Ostia took over. Both archaeologically but also geologically (with the Bradyseism ) Anyway, I've been working on the marketplace - Macellum (Temple of Serapide) since the ruins still stand and models have been made of it. (Notice 1st. floor doesn't have a railing yet ) [image: v_ray_macellum_test1.jpg] [image: v_ray_macellum_test2.jpg] [image: v_ray_macellum_test3.jpg] [image: v_ray_macellum_test4.jpg] [image: v_ray_macellum_test6.jpg] [image: v_ray_macellum_test7.jpg] [image: v_ray_macellum_test8.jpg] I would be very pleased if you Crislink would share your resources. I see you've made the Temple of Augustus. How do you know it looked like that? I can't find any archaeology describing it. Only that it was "brought to light after the burning of the cathedral in 1964". It had Corinthian columnns, but that's all I know. I also plan to make the Flavian Amphitheatre (if my skills suffice), and the grand quay (commissioned by Nero). Also the Forum on the upper terrace, but don't now what it looked like.

I gave a try using KT, + KT free trees, instancing them around the model. background fit image + distance blue light ( to simulate blues shadows) that is all 4 min 37 sec! [image: qDVC_4min37secKT.jpg] [image: ZKa6_brighter.jpg]

@bryan k said: Great renders and models. Thanks for the process illustration. Are the textures from Indigo or SketchUp? Thank you. The textures are self-made.

I think this is one of your best texturing jobs, John - the street, sidewalk, the brick fence, house walls, gates, roof...all excellent. They really pop in the larger version of the image, where the details are more noticeable. Are the house walls one texture, or a combination different brick and stone textures? I think the one item that could be improved is the large timbers could use some more bump - the large cracks look flat/have no depth. Foliage integrated perfectly, as usual. Beautiful image. I know it's been mentioned before, but you really should update your status from beginner.

Very impressive modeling, texturing, and rendering. My only criticism is that the propellers appear static in some of the images.

thanks Victor, i'll try to add some interior! the renders were done in maxwell studio. yes Pete, it's for swimming. at first glance at this system it may look insanitary, but it actually works quiet well.

beautiful, my only crit would be that the sink is too shiny. and maybe the plants etc outside the windows are too vivid, you could almost fade them out to bring attention back to the interior.

Edson, when someone says "is this Vray?" and you say, "no it's Podium", it really shows just how well you apply the software. These renders are some of the best I've seen. I adore the portrait image!
