Sorry, didn't answer one of your questions.... The Firefox plugin worked fine for me. Running the latest version of FF. Now worries with sat imagery too.

Cheers Dave, yeah that's what I do to change it back. Sometime when you're churning away you forget you've change the axis orientation which affects groups and components made at this time.... maybe it's something for thomthom's axis tools.... say a context click and maybe a 'reset axis orientation around components axis location'...? That would be cool. Thom?

Hi Stick Thank you for the info and opinion. Honestly I don't pay much attention to that. Really sorry for that. Another thing, actually I do respect (and probably a fan of the Germans). In most football World Cup series, I've always been their supporter and fans. Always been "Der Panzer" fan. Note that (put aside the one I mentioned) they were good even if they're facing almost all other Europeans at the same time. Not to mention the US, Canada, etc. I might be a fan for the British in most field, but for certain, like any other people here in this country who knows the history - we like the Germans for their characters, discipline, science, technologies, etc. Most of the British that I like are from the cultural elements. Political ideology mostly in histories are temporary. But the main nation character may stand longer. The forum is about SketchUp. Let's put this ideo political aside for good. Cheers. PS: I do think most northern Europeans are Germans though. Including British, Celtics, etc. Have a good time.

If you could see Australia these days it is far from just black and white australian.... we've become quite a multicultural society.... As for the themes, civic celebrations certainly do encourage an indigenous theme as well as our diversity. Unfortunately there was an ugly incident in Canberra [National Capital] yesterday where a violent protest took place from a group of Aboriginals that saw our Prime Minister and Opposition Leader rush away from an award ceremony under the protection of riot police. What makes it worse is that the majority of the protesters are not of aboriginal descent; rather half-cast, oxygen thieves that have nothing better to do than make trouble. It does nothing for the ongoing plight of equality and acceptance... http://video.news.com.au/2190366897/Inside-protest-chaos

Cornel you've made around four posts today quoting or paraphrasing scripture. I'm with Alan on this one. Debate the issue, leave the preaching out of it. Yours isn't the only religion here, but you're the only one saying yours is right.

Hello I found the raison on the SU PODIUM website ( rendering plugin ) " This is s known (annoying) bug. Don't worry nothing's lost, you just need to rename the skb to skp. It happens when you save when the oopr is opened. Sketchup will only save backup file. To save correctly, close the oopr before saving. " It's working for me now. I hope to help you.

@chris fullmer said: ps - I work on images that get up to nearly 1gb. And they just keep getting larger and larger each year as I develop my editing process. I'm sure I'll break the gig size soon and probably keep going. Chris, what graphics program are you using with these size files? I have a 500mb aerial jpg that I tried to change to a png in GIMP but went to 2.5gb! Only reason why I tried it was that SU like png's right...?

Hi I am having an issue with PDF resolution in Layout. For a particular project I am importing an A1 pdf and inserting SU model views over as 2D edits to an over all construction project by others. All good. Then suddenly but not always, perhaps due to using the export pdf (or print to pdf native on mac) function, the imported pdf goes ultra lo rez. Even more odd is when I start to repair the document by trying to cut and paste good pdfs out a master doc 'command c' (Mac) not only immediately turns the good pdf in to an ultra lo-rez version, it also flips it in to a mirror image! Bizarre! Any clues you guys?

Good backups are definitely critical! A few suggestions I have: burn DVD's of current files monthly - always good to have optical backup. My file sync software of choice is Synkron. I got rid of mirroring my hard drives after I experienced some corruption problems. It's quite a *itch to get files off of one half of a mirrored drive... Now I have a setup where I schedule synkron to copy updated files daily to a second hard drive that I basically use as a mirror, without the mirror format. I then have an external drive I update weekly.

@unknownuser said: @utiler said: Hi guys, I confess, I don't when the difference... can someone humor me? From a user's point of view (and grossly generalizing): unbiased renderers have relatively few options and are quite easy to use. Downside: they're slow. biased renderers have many options and are relatively hard to use. Upside: they're fast. Both are quite capable of producing goodlooking results. Cheers, Stinkie, love the hat!! And thanks to you other guys for the input....
