    • Jitter seems to have gone awol...

Hi, I used to use Jim Foltz's all the time and then with a reinstall lost it.

But on Jim's page the link goes to an html page
      http://sketchuptips.blogspot.co.nz/2008/08/plugin-jitter.html
I've posted to Jim about this but no reply so far.

Does anyone else have a non-corrupt version of Jitter?

When we were studying (landscape architecture), one irate lecturer said "you're not F****** novelists, you're designers and artists so show me graphically with ass little text as possible" Who is ever going to read the above.
Go for bullets and napkin sketches and then we might com back.,..

    • How to turn axes lines off?

Hi How do I turn origin axes lines off?

I do a lot of presentation online and origin lines are just clutter at that time - some way of toggling them on and off would be great.

    • RE: [Plugin]T2H_EXPORT_WEBGL(Simple Viewer on Web Browser)

amazing Tak2hata. This looks like a viable alternative to 3d pdfs. and thanks to Jef.Coelho for the tradestand web example. This'll be fantastic for web presentations.

Will (or is it possible) to have layer on/off control?

Is it possible to set navigation constraints so that for instance a viewer can only navigate a model along certain paths, or only go around the outside etc? I'm thinking of where one sends this to a client and ensuring they only see a defined set of possible views.

Thanks, and more amazing work from Tak2hata. Another real reason to upgrade (which for me wont be till later 2016).

Thanks Juan - your maison_gilles_tarnus_projet_1.pdf is very effective. I keep looking at the various ways of doing this but few companies show any 'real world' cases. This is very helpful.

    • Error saving filepath.layout

I have both LO and skp files in the same folder. When I go to save the LO file I get
'Make sure that the path and file name are correct'

When I try save as - i get the same thing.

Nothing has changed on system, filepaths the same so what gives? Anyone else had this?

Wonderful Majid - proof again that 'impossible' is not a barrier, thank you - when we were younger and had a tiny car (Honda City) my wife bought a dining table and four chairs and then challenged me saying we could never pick it up in our little car - we just sqeeezed in in aferwards

Thanks - I'm sadly aware - NZ has just signed the TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership), not a good thing for anyone except the transnationals. Really just an expansion of US hegemony and an expansion of their potential bombing area.

I haven't tried this yet as I'm on the road but have been hoping poisson distribution would get scripted for SU. A while ago ago I posted this query http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323%26amp;t=55779%26amp;hilit=+poisson .

Currently when I want these (for 'random' planting layouts) I run them in R and export to dxf - Your method offers possibility of saving two steps and keeping everything 'in house'. One extra though - would you be able to add a ratio for each different component so as to get an effect as in the link's first image?

    • RE: Exporting as a 2D graphic

It might be a bit of a kludge but do you need to export the whole building - is it just a facade you need or whatever. I understand it's never ideal to start running two files but I do sometimes do this for large/complex files. Also just in case its useful have you checked that you don't have any lost object kilometres away from your building?

Write a bit about your data - file size, format, source ie is it from a scanner, from nasa, etc. Also why do I've also started using meshlab - http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/ - as it handles things better than landserf. Meshlab doesn't do dem but it does a nice dxf which is you need for cad

I do pretty much all my presentations live from SU using joinme (it's US$20.00 month). I looked at literally dozens of apps that say theuy do this but sometimes a paid app works a lot better.

I find I can do little drawing changes on the fly which goes over eally well with clients - I haven't tried a camera path yet but it shouldn't be a problem.

    • Strange character string in dwg exported text from LO v8.0

I've just exported a vector layer of labels to dwg from LO (made in SU8 using TIG's Add Height from Datum).

In LO the labels are formatted like so: ~ -0.30m (and in the resulting .pdf)
      but in the dwg export they're : \c4144959; ~ -0.30m

Does anyone know where this string comes from?

[update] I've checked the source dwg and it does not contain the string.
