Thanks HornOxx. You are right about knowing when to stop adding the small stuff into a model. I'm use to doing images that are pretty "over the top". , had to keep reminding myself not to do too much on this. Doubt I'll be revisiting this it was pretty much a "one and done" deal.

One of my earliest SU models for the museum project I was on. Went back in to it an re-rendered it. Swapped native SU materials for better textures I've amassed over time. Brought in some better Form Font trees.
Structure design is in keeping with the overall theme of this area of the project. It's main purpose was to hide a mass of aquarium plumbing, electrical and HVAC stuff that ran down the wall. Small metal structure attached is a place marker for a proposed songbird aviary. It got "value engineered" down to the size of a garden shed 😲 !

The moose will need to be pretty much perfect.
It will be front and center above a fireplace in a photo real render. I am doubtful I have the skills to properly map a photo onto a moose head model.

I am thinking I may need to photoshop an image into the final render. Maybe use a moose head model in the render so it casts shadows and then overlay the "real" moose head image in photo shop...

nlipovac, thanks for the thumb. to answer your question.... left space under shelf open because of the need for unobstructed space for cable box , dvd player etc. I see no gain in trying to hide center case support between the drawers. it would also unnecessarily complicate the build. just my feeling.

Rich, Used Twilights translucent "Leaf" material template on the flowers. I'll have to try one with more transparency and give it another go. 👍

You're right. It is fun to create a model for the heck of it, and the more complex the better. I just finished a job for a colleague that had me do fully detailed models of 10 pieces of period furniture, working from an inaccurate cutlist, crummy exploded views, and some photos that didn't always show me what I needed to see. So, of course, the first thing I did after I completed the last model was to make another model for myself to put in the 3D Warehouse.

Wondered the same thing about the way the legs were attached in the real desk. Had good front and side view photos I worked from , so leg angle is pretty close to the original. Wondered if the "wood" leg is actually sleeved over a metal leg that is welded to a flange plate that is attached to the drawer boxes ? No big deal I don't plan on building one and it has a pretty good cool factor for my models. 😎

The suburb our ranch house was in had about 4 or five house designs, but even though you could recognize the design, no two were alike. The developer changed each one - they were mirrored, the brick/siding was changed, windows, etc. Nowadays they really are identical cookie cutter houses.

I like the overall "soft" look you used.
