Got to mulling over the design of the first t.v. stand I posted awhile back. There was some elements that just were bugging me. Go figure 😲 . Made some changes, like this one better. Tip of the hat to the late Sam Maloof, this design borrows greatly from case goods he designed. Once again rendered in Twilight.

Nice, I would rotate the drawers so the texture doesn't mirror.

Very nice work. What would you store in the drawers? I would be inclined to either use a couple of sliding by pass doors or I would make the top drawers shallower than the bottom ones.

Is your wood grain material long enough that you can make the drawer fronts look like they are cut out of the same board with continuous grain? If you're veneering the drawer fronts, you could easily use book matched veneers.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

Now to address a few things that were pointed out..... was aware the texture on the drawers was "a little" off.
Drawer was drawn as a component and I didn't want to blow it up to fiddle with the texture ( I know shame on me ). Copied and flip the drawers and it gave a look as if you resawed a thick board and unfolded at the center ends. Kind off an ass backwards book match.

Kept the depth of the drawers the same as the intended use is to store DVD's. The drawers are sized for that specific use. I know it breaks the tradition of graduating drawers in case goods.

I realize the spirit intended by critiques and do appreciate all comments. In keeping with that spirit went back in and adjusted the texture on the drawers. Exploded drawers and fronts and worked the textures out as if each pair of drawers were cut from a single long board ( as in DaveR's suggestion ). Will interject that when I'm cutting drawer fronts in real world that is the practice I try to maintain. Posting a render of "fixed" case. Cheers everyone 😎 .

Very nice modifications. Considering the intended use of the drawers, I'd stick with them as you have them, too. So when do you start cutting real wood? πŸ˜„

Thanks Dave. Gosh knows when I'll have the time to actually build this although it's on the list πŸ˜† . The woodworking is just a for fun thing for me now. Present job has me out of town way too much πŸ˜• .

                    It looks great! πŸ‘
Since there is no middle vertical beneath that shelf so what about making that middle part between drawers invisible.

nlipovac, thanks for the thumb. to answer your question.... left space under shelf open because of the need for unobstructed space for cable box , dvd player etc. I see no gain in trying to hide center case support between the drawers. it would also unnecessarily complicate the build. just my feeling.
