I have found something new. There is a successful attempt on replicating an effect used in a patented Howard Johnson magnetic motor. The patent No. 4,151,431 was granted in 1979(!). The author, nickname 'Mylow' has posted several videos of his crude prototype. I have attached the most convincing of them. Funnily enough, I have been looking into teaching in college, I have done some teaching before. But I don't think outsourcing will disappear, if anything it might increase as the redundany rate rises - for some companies it's cheaper to outsource than pay for pensions, insurance, training, new software.

It depends on what you mean by "where the user is". If your user has just clicked on something you can find out the top level instance and then figure out the transform of the object in that instance. If your user has "opened" the object its a little trickier but you can find the top instance through an observer.

No it doesn't work. In a model above the face is not hidden. It is on a layer that is turned off.

Operator overloading in any language is a lot of rope to hang yourself with. And its always the guy who just discovered that language feature that goes postal with it. On a related note, I got caught badly while writing some Ruby C extension last month whereby on Win32, ruby.h quietly #defines fopen() and fclose() to be something completely different! Just insane. I was just looking at ruby-json. I noticed there were 2 ways to use it: one c-language extension, and one called "pure". Unfortunately, the "pure" is not so pure. It requires platform specific libraries also.

dylan, why don't you use the installer? it extracts the files in the right folders. just remember to delete the old exporter. not only does it have a toolbar, after exporting, it asks you, if you want to open the file in kerkythea...

Here are my findings in relation to attributes assigned to the SKM file: SU will not save an attribute containing an array or hash SU will save multiple keys within single attribute dictionary .. but will load only first! In attached sample there are three keys saved: <n0:AttributeDictionary count="3" name="su2kt"> <n0:Attribute key="kt_lib_path" type="10">TEST1</n0:Attribute> <n0:Attribute key="kt_map" type="10">KT MAP</n0:Attribute> <n0:Attribute key="kt_mat" type="10">KT MAT</n0:Attribute> but only first kt_lib_path will be loaded I am afraid only a fix from Google would help.
