The text is a parable. It is not really concerning the software.

RE: Womp3D
It is very interesting tool, similar to MagicaCSG from ephtracy.
I wait for they standalone application. I know it is in plans. I am not a fan of storing my creations on a different machine than mine own.

Short story of Thea light
Here and on my website I share a short story how Thea works with SketchUp models. It is not intended only as a marketing, rather as an insight how Thea works in general.
We do not have native lights in SketchUp. There is no native rendering engine in SketchUp, apart for very simple OpenGL display.
We’ve got Thea touch which creates miracles – beautiful images from models. Even the most elaborate SketchUp display styles do not give them justice.
SketchUp component cannot give light on its own. There must be Thea present and the component has to take a name of a light. It has to have “_lighttype” somewhere in its’ name. It must be saying “I want to be a light!”. Thea will make it emit light, but as most of us understand, not by component’s own means. Thea is the source of light. It is what brings life to any SketchUp model.
Interestingly every component can be turned into a light. ‘Marc’, ‘Susan’ or ‘Heather’ may be converted into an emitter. Try it! Every single light matters in rendering and is taken into account when calculating the global illumination.
There is Thea online manual, few books and a lot of tutorials on Thea, but the most important is to have hands-on experience.
Happy rendering!

RE: FlexTools Crashing Sketchup
It looks your FlexTools make Thea for SketchUp 3.0 crash when exporting models.
When your plugin is disabled, Thea works as expected.I have had a whole day debugging session with a kind user, who shared his machine with me today. Our export function was stopping due to some error in SketchUp (Temp folder error most likely raised by BugSplat).
I am not sure what actually happens, because I do not have your plugin on my machine, but I would really appreciate you either sharing FlexTools, so I could replicate the issue in my own debugging environment or please download Thea for SketchUp 3.0 and try to see for yourself rendering a larger model.
https://www.thearender.com/downloads/This issue has to be addressed.

RE: [Plugin Beta] Animator - v4.0a - 02 Apr 24
Great to see the beta. It is good timing since we prepare a new release too.
I always appreciate how detailed and well thought your feature implementations are! -
Christmas Ornament
Hi,
I share with you a design of a 3D printed Christmas ornament based on icosahedron. The Star in the middle can be customized by anyone being a little familiar with SketchUp. The design includes also a convenient small box that will keep all the parts safe and in one place.
There is also a .layout file which will allow you to customize assembly instruction, if you decide to modify the design yourself. If not, you may just print the .pdf.
Stl files are also included for a convenience.

RE: My upcoming architectural perspective book!
The watercolor is mesmerizing.
I like using a pen, even for making notes of ToDo's for the plugin.
All the best with your effort! I am personally very interested in it.
I will certainly learn a lot from it. My hand-sketches were never good enough. -

Does anyone still have a copy of this file?
I do
Have had to dig through my old backup HD and have found the file.I liked the idea of a better control over SU.

RE: Write to serial port with Ruby [SOLVED!]
I have found the answer. It is ffi gem crashing in Win10 in SU2017...18...19

Yes, Ruby Serial works without SketchyPhysics.
I installed the 'rubyserial' gem, but the initialization of Serial.new("COM3")
crashes for me in SU2019 Win 10.rubyserial-0.6.0.gem
ffi-1.11.3-x64-mingw32.gemI will try to figure out why it does that.
Does anyone have had a success with 'rubyserial' in SU2019? -
RE: SU 2019.2 released
I am working on 19.2 support, but it will take some time. I hope to get a bit shorter export times with the new SU SDK.

RE: Voxel Farm in SketchUp?
I see it as an extension to GeoLocation, where you could specify a service providing 3D data or your own point-cloud/voxel data gathered from a drone or a laser scanner.
The engine itself is also nice. I would love to see it being used inside SketchUp, including parametric/procedural materials and things similar to our dynamic components (L-system).

Voxel Farm in SketchUp?
Voxel Farm - 3D engine based on voxels, but converting them to meshes for display, has made a new advancement that allows it to display vast, "unlimited" areas with a sub-millimetre precision.
Trimble is one of companies having a license of full Voxel Farm engine.
I think it is a just a matter of time, when we see this integrated in SketchUp. There is also a chance we could see a new product based on this engine... but it is less probable.

RE: Animator and Thea
When you render from Animator plugin the visibility will be used, because it re-exports each animation frame. There is no option of fading the visibility in/out though.
If you render same animation from Thea animation tab, then the visibility will not work. This happens, because Thea4SU does everything to convert the animation to Thea's native animation which doesn't support visibility yet.

The Lilium Jet – all-electric VTOL jet
All electric, 300km/h max speed and 300 km range vertical take off and landing private yet prototype looks very interesting and promising. Will it be a new way we move around on a daily basis? Maybe not us, but our kids or grand-children.
I am surprised how low the noise produced by the fans is.

@mike amos said:
absolutely refute the right of anyone to state that the love of one person for another comes from a deity
You do not have to believe it to love anyone. What if your whole existence is a manifestation of Love, in your unique, completely free way?
I know that my love to my wife is a ray of the light/love I have seen. I simply felt it one day and still feel it in a way. I do not find it intimidating. I simply know that there is something I still have to learn.
My experience tells me that the love is a foundation of everything that exists and to truly fulfil myself as a human being, I have to follow what Love invites me to do. So it is more like flowing with my deepest dreams then being a "puppet of a deity". Love doesn't work this way. We all are Gods, "sons of the Highest." -

What is your experience in these matters Tomasz?
I have written about my experience here:
http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=179%26amp;t=12323%26amp;p=93314#p93314It matches very close what this man talks about Light and Love and a feeling of being united with everything4:41.
For me it was the strongest experience I have every had. I want to live more and more with this Love in my heart everyday.
You are right we all have to build on what rings to us true and is based on what we have learned so far.
I expect that my experience can be shared, because it was happening in early days of Christianity and it is sill happening in so called Charismatic Renewal in several Churches. Receiving Holy Spirit usually happens through putting hands on someone's head and asking for that gift.
