What is the professional term you use?

I think for someone who specializes in architecture and/or interiors, the correct, time-honored title Architectural Illustrator, as evidenced by professional organizations: American Society of Architectural Illustrators Association of Architectural Illustrators (UK) The Australian Society of Architectural Illustrators It is also the title used in my 1981 high school architectural drafting text book. However, there is the New York Society of Renderers, which is for architectural and interior "renderers," but the title renderer itself is kinda broad, IMHO.

Well, there's FormFonts, of course. That all started out with me seeing an opportunity and a demand for 3D low-poly figures; and Fred Abler starting a site called Objective Networks, which later "inspired" the 3D Warehouse. To this day, the Warehouse bears more than a passing resemblance to Objective Networks (This is a very slow-loading archive version, not the actual site...and yes, Martina is right there near the top) Heck, you can even still download her.

Good on you. What a great job you have done on this. The animation is quite smooth, if you weren't so crazy (busy--to clarify) I be bugging you to describe your process and workflow.

Thanks Boo. I keep staring at this one. I'm going to redo the background that have a sunset. The colors in the building seem to have a "glow". I'll upload if it turns out!

Thanks for the comments guys. I get what your saying about the background and perspective of the building. There was always something that I couldn't put my finger on. Andy, believe it or not that house sits right up against that hill. I looked through my stash of pictures to post but I couldn't find the one that showed how it sat right at the foot of the red hill. I could only find the shot of the back. Maybe I didn't actually take one from the perspective I used.... [image: 72ll_SRD-2009-007.png]

Here on Prince Edward Island, a few hundred miles from Tinanne, the ice storm wasn't so bad. I woke up to a thin glaze of ice over everything and it was spitting rain. The temperature was on the rise. The kids schools had a one hour delay but the buses came and took them away. When I drove to work about 8:45am the roads were clear. So it really wasn't much of a ice storm for us this year. Last year we had a bad localized one. Several hundred power poles (old cedar ones) broke under the strain of all the ice-weighted wires. A few years ago (1998) was the one Modelhead refers to. It hit us hard but really screwed things up in Quebec where over 1000 high-tension power pylons crumpled. There's a wikipedia page about that storm here. It is reported to have killed at least 25 people. Regards, Ross

So far it looks that only some users with nVidia graphics cards gets the best results. I got an ATI Radeon 9800 on my Ubuntu box and as with the rest of the ATI users SU on Wine is no go. I have an 8800GT and 6800GT on my main rig, but I only run Vista on that.
