For editing in Illustrator you will be better off exporting as EPS File (*.eps)
Since EPS is a vector format this will allow you to edit the graphics in Illustrator and then scale to any size without loosing image quality.

RE: Dimensions changing to "not scaled"
Weird, can you attach the LayOut file?

RE: HIDDEN OBJECTS
I wish LayOut had and outliner panel. I think it would be very useful when placing or trying to select/edit/arrange multiple viewports and mask objects on a single layer.

Thank you Adam,
Can you please clarify the licensing terms. I could not find anything on the website other than the software being labeled "Annual LightUp Analytics".Does it mean that 12 months after payment the plugin will:
- continue to be functional except I won't be eligible for updates?
OR - stop working completely until I pay for another year?
LightUp Analytics Ltd. confirmed that the correct answer is (B).
The current Annual License Fee to use the software is £350.00.As of right now, this is the only purchase option available.
I understand that this pricing model may work for some users. It definitely does not work for me. - continue to be functional except I won't be eligible for updates?

RE: Does Anyone Find it Annoying that When Zoom in n Out...
Another tool that can help with this problem is the Zoom Previous & Zoom Next command.

RE: [Plugin] Window Tools: Revised, 4 tools, incl. icons.
Thank you very much for a great plugin.

RE: V-Ray fast start
You could try to contact Matt Donley at Master SketchUp.
Matt recently started selling his SketchUp to LayOut Book in PDF format. Matt is really nice guy and may be willing to share some tips.
He is also selling a Video Tutorial based on the book through Udemy.com.
Quite a few SU books were published through Wiley.
Here is a link to an article on How To Get An ISBN Number.

RE: I cant find a way to import .asc format lidar data
You could try SimleDEMViewer available at www.jizoh.jp/english.html and generate an image height-map using the Grascale Image tool and then use thomthom's Bitmap To Mesh plugin.

Generating Construction Documents with TSWFA
A very interesting approach for generating Construction Documents with SketchUp and LayOut using the TSWFA (The SketchUp Workflow for Architecture) system developed by Mike Brightman.
The Scene Generator plugin automatically adds section planes, manages scene properties and naming conventions, adds layers, and applies styles in SketchUp based on the TSWFA system. The Scene Generator syncs with the TSWFA scrapbooks to eliminate the need to manage stacked viewports, line weight settings, scenes, scales, and render settings in LayOut.

RE: Skalp - Dynamic Sections Plugin released
This plugin does look "promising". However, I am not comfortable giving $69 to an anonymous developer for an early beta release where some advertised product features are missing, unstable or not implemented yet with no indication of stable release date.

RE: Sketchup views and angles...
Excellent suggestions Tommy, very helpful.
Thank you very much. -
RE: Does Anyone Find it Annoying that When Zoom in n Out...
If you ever get lost in your model you can use the Camera/Zoom Extents (Shift + Z) command or click on one of your Scene Tabs to quickly zoom out so you can see all of your model.

RE: Controlling Lines from Inserted Models
It appears that SU is hardcoded to set the Stroke Style to Round Corners and Round Ends during the import/insert.
It would be helpful if this default setting could be changed by the user either in Preferences or Document Setup.

RE: Controlling Lines from Inserted Models
Have you tried the Explode Viewport route pbacot hinted to in that thread, did that work for you?
There really should be a better way to control the lines of inserted models in LO.

RE: Construction & Working Drawings - Discussion
You are right, plus the goal of the OP was to see/show examples of drawings. Sorry, the title throw me off.

It doesn't look like the shape dialog will help with ports. (this deserves a LO thread-not related to this topic). The SU references all appear to have round endcaps. I think the mention of raster is because raster pixelates the lines so they look squarish.
The only way to square it would be to explode the port so the elements become LO linework which defeats the SU-LO link.
So where is the documentation when you need it?
I think bulbangs' question does very much belong to this thread as controlling lines in LayOut is at the core of creating construction drawings.
What is the correct workflow? I tried to search the SU Knowledge Base and have to yet find anything there that covers this topic.
A detailed Reference Manual for SU and LO (preferably in PDF) would be very helpful and save everyone a lot of time. I am getting very tired of scouring the web for tidbits of information that should be properly documented by Sketchup.

Yes, in regular SketchUp my laptop struggles and switches to wireframe etc, but in LightUp its fine.
Your system specs look fine.Very interesting. This just shows SketchUp's inability to take advantage of current hardware and highlights its lag in performance when compared to other software.
