I think he was there on holiday - he was in buying wine at a local winery where my sister and a friend were having lunch and she got a brief chat with him. Siad he was a nice guy.

@remus said: ...i might just being feeling particularly lazy tonight. no doubt about you being lazy, remus what you would like to have sounds pretty much like tha maya workflow. you hit the extrude face command and get this weird handle thing, that lets you rotate, scale and move (relative to the original face, so that moving "up" means "away from the face"). makes only sense if you can push/pull several faces at once. because then you can move/rotate/scale all faces arround their indivitual centres simultanously. so if you selected all the faces of this sphere and extruded, then moved it upward, you would get this funny shape (you can currently do that with normal push/pull). but with your idea, if you now scaled them down to lets say 0.1, all the spikes would suddenly become pointed. or if you rotated them, they would all twist arround their individual centres - phantastic! [image: extrudeselectionro7.jpg] I don't know of a way to do that in the current SketchUp version just with one operation. one great way to implement this into a future SketchUp version would be to right-click on a multiple face selection with the push/pull tool active and select "extrude faces". like that you don't have to introduce another button and the interfaces keeps it's simplicity...

This is a great book. Can't say I've mended my ways, but at least I know more about the problem. It has exercises and, if I ever get around to it, they might help.... yes, the components trick is the only method I know so far. works pretty well though, for you can even add additional attributes for indigo or maxwell.

Chris, im not particularly technically minded but i dont think youll be able to call it up for web dialogs from SU, as SU always uses IE (on windows) and safari (on macs) to ensure that the user will always have that browser. You never know though, those ruby magicians have been known to do stranger things...

I'm, sure there are those in Kansas - and other states - who wish they could pass such a law, no joking. I believe Kansas is one of the states that has tried to mandate teaching creationism.

I didn't know elven architects were still around a hundred years ago i thought they vanished at the same time as the orcs, ogers, dwarf, leprechauns and things like that....maybe the hungarians kept one prisoner just in case they needed an impressive building....do you think they'd lend me one..... Now seriously that reminds of so many films and games with mithological beings. And to be a bit on topic...that guy has serios talent. Cheers..i'm gonna go look fo the pot of gold now.
