A fair point, but for some reason double clicking in a new window seems really intuitive to me (i keep trying to do it

about the continuous double clicking; there's a pill you can take for that!!!!

Why can't we use the the scroll wheel on the mouse to browse the material browser?Bugs me as hell.

absolutely! same goes for component window (works on layer window and outliner, why not with the others?)
