Did you use soften/smooth edges? select all the geometry of an element by triple-clicking on it, then right-click and select soften/smooth from the context menu. In the new little window, drag the slider to the correct value. (usually more than 20, less then 90)

Also; which renderer are you using? some require you to set a smoothness level in the material, others don't properly import the SU properties of edges...

turn on the 'monochrome' face style. the white ones are good, the light-blue ones are bad...
When this kind of stuff is important in a model, I like to make the back-color a bright red... this can be changed in the styles/edit/faces dialog.

    • Trying out renderer with Wall-e and Eve

hi everyone I'm trying out Shaderlight renderer... some nice results
      wall-e-and-eve.jpg

I downloaded them from the warehouse, tweaked wall-e a bit, put an hdri around it and tweaked the materials a bit.
The background was blurred a bit extra in PS.

    • RE: World Cup Stadiums

I tried Shaderlight as well, but it's still very much in beta... the MELT function that they use for max is not yet integrated in the sketchup version and neither are pointlights and such. not that I don't appreciate IBL, but I don't have that many hdri's to choose from...

why of course he still would. layers don't work the same way they do in autocad. Putting things on different layers does not prevent them from cutting through one another.

I asked this guy what he used to make his 360 pano's.
It's the 'Panosaurus' a quite affordably priced panoramic tripod head. Find it here.
It's only just expensive enough to keep me from buying it at once...
