Hi Massimo,
Thanx for the Quick respons. Do you mean: select all the individual planks in a texture and save the seperately?
I've heard about the Bricks n Tiles app and I will give you method a try. Hope to post the result soon.

Hi everybody,
I'm working on texturing of models and having trouble with Wood Planks. Is it me or is it damn hard to find good textures of woodplanks? I use CGTextures a lot but it's hard to make them seamless. Pixplant has trouble with wood textures and a lot of other apps to. The offset method is also very time consuming and hard with wood textures. I also tried to model teh woodplanks and texture them with a normal wood grain ( no plank pattern ) but this results in a repeating pattern when alligned in a wood deck. Hope someone can help me on this one. I'm looking for good seamless woodplank textures or a way to make them myself. Maybe we can start a library here. I'm not behind my computer at this moment, but I wil post my textures that do work when I get home

Thanx for clearing this up for me . Hope to post a render of the scene soon.

Hi Everybody,
This may be a question I already know the answer to but just to get the facts straight. Is there a ( large ) difference between the quality of textures when rendering if you use png instead of jpeg? I was wondering because I'm working on a architectural scene where the concrete of the building is its main feature. I want the concrete the be at its best so I'm struggling with max texture size ( resolution ) and png or jpg. Hope somebody can help me on this one.

Hi Everybody,
Since I've never entered a render challenge before, and because I love the scene and model Oli made, I decided to join in. Here's my contribution:
Rendered for about 8 hours in Indigo on MLT setting

Hi guys,
I use Pixplant and the redfield plugin, but both have problems with wood. For wood I first give it a try in GIMP. That's a free photoshop type app. It has a filter for it. You can find it under filters->Projections-> make seamless
But this doesn't work perfect for all textures, but better than pixplant anyway.
Hope this helps.

Hi Rob,
Thanx for the quick respons. Thanx for the tip, but I forgot to mention that I zoomed(Out) my scene in two-point perspective mode to achieve a certain view.
Is there another way to manipulate the camera in Indigo or Twillight, like there is in Kerkythea?
Greetz Twan
Hi Everybody,
I've been working on a model of House and in my scene's I've used zoom. When I try to render the scene in Indigo or Twillight, I can't get the camera to take te zoomed view. In kerkythea I managed to adjust the zoom of the camera in the scene, but I can't find such an option in Twillight or Indigo. Hope somebody can help here.

Hi Pibuz,
The tree looks really nice indeed . I've tried to make some convincing Trees to a while ago. I exported them from Vue as OBJ and Imported in SU with Obj Importer. It worked , but resulted in a 15 to 20 mb tree . So I gues my quest also ends where yours ended. If you ever find a way of decreasing file size, please give me a shout

Hi Scott,
I know that I was comparing apples with pears. Don't get me wrong, The render is great, and Twillight is very good because of the integration in SU and price. But I think the render could be even beter If rendered with another application.
Oli, I've checked the showcase on the Twillight site again. There are only a few masterpieces I think. Its hard to put my finger on it, but I think it has to do with the realism of the materials or lighting.

Hi Guys,
Thanx for the great comments. I cooked the second one the longest so I think this shows. I Also used other Filters in Photoshop.
The plants are 2D components. Background is a billboard in SU.

Hi Scott,
Nice render and nice model. First I thougt you modelled the floor, but you mentioned it is a texture map. The bolts in the wooden beams catch my attention. I know they should be there, but maybe there are to many. You could use a wooden pen construction. I also think that the render would be better if rendered with another render application. Twillight just doesn't do photorealistic rendering as wel as a few other apps like Indigo, Fry , Max or Vray. I looked at the showcase on the twillight homepage, but there aren't many renders that blow me away in terms of realisme.

Hi Everybody,
Been a while since my last post. I've been working on this Interior model in my spare time. The model was realy fun to make because of the 2 views. When I was inspiration-less on the first view I just flipped the views and go on working on the second view. Love to get some feedback on the model and the render.
Render made with Indigo. A lill pp in Photoshop
Greetz Twan
Hi Teo,
I like the second one best. The first one has a bit of a dusty look, and I don't like the paving. The paving (sidewalk) in the second one is mucho better in my opinion . I also like the Lighting in the second one.

Hi Guys,
Last night I was working on a plate of apples to use in interior designs. I was struggling with the apple texture, but thanx to UV-Tools I managed to produce a decent plate of apples ( I think ). Love some Comments on the texturing and realisme of the render. (hope the post the interior design with apples soon.

Hi everybody,
Love this plugin. But I ran into a problem. I was working on a bowl wit some apples. I finally got the texturing to work and I wrapped around an apple texture with the cylindrical option. In SU it lloks great. I tried to render It with Indigo. But in the render the texture mapping is screwed up. Is there a way to render in Indigo or other render app that will keep the UV settings?

Hi Jeff,
Thanx for the great comments. At the moment our 3D Design studio is in its beginning stage. We started about 1,5 year ago. This time was spend spitting through a lot of tutorials, books and websites . And of course a lot of time behind the Computer. We are working to a level of quality and Speed
( workflow ) that we think is good enough for selling. Based on the comments on this Forum we now we are on the right track. The nice thing is that we both have our strong and weakpoints so that works well.

Hi Chris,
Is that a good or a bad thing? We are working towards a own style. Do there will always be a slight difference in style and modeling. But I think that's a good think.

Hi Guys,
Here's my latest model and render. This is the second model in my attempt to create scene's where the exterior blends over into the interior. 1st model and render http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=28420
The scene is modeled in SU and rendered in Indigo. A bit of photoshop by me and my friend and fellow Sketchucation member Jeremy a.k.a Sketchnl
Would love some comments on the model and render. And the pp of course.
Can you tell how many animals are in the render? ?
Greetz Twan
Hi guys,
Thanx for the great comments. the render took about 9 hours on a core 2 Quad with 4 GB. I also used a Psd plugin to denoise the raw render.
