      Hi everybody,

Long time no post πŸ˜„. I've been Working on a few concepts/designs the last days. My goal is to create scene's where I'm trying to combine interior and exterior. Like inside ( courtyard ) gardens, Atrium's and stuff like that. So I took a dive into clip mapping in Indigo and Kerky, and here is on of the first results. Love some feedback on the model and render.

      Render made with Indigo.
Plants are all 2d face me comp. Made them myself. I noticed that the guys from Indigo decided to Flip the Alpha Mapping principle. In Indigo it clips the white part πŸ˜•

Since I learned a lot from you guys and I downloaded a few things from the materials and component section 😳. I think it's time to give something back. Hope you can use it.

      Hi everybody,

Thanx for the great comments on the render.

Pilou: Could you please explain your reply, because I don't see the relation between your reply and my post. Or am I missing something?. But I like the Mirror idea.

      Hi Guys,

Here's a update on the Bathroom I'm working on right now. Almost finished but needs a little tweaking. Been having a little mirror problem. Stupid reflections πŸ˜„ haha. Love playing with displacement πŸ˜„ . This is one of Indigo's strong points in my opinion. Too bad that Kerky and Twillight don't have displacement. ( yes I know that there's the instance brush but that's not the same ).
love some comments on the progress so far and the render.

And Richard: I've coated the wood with a water or pie resistant material so no worries 🀣

Thanx for the comments everybody. πŸ˜„

Richard: I used displacement on the carpet. I agree that I could crank it up more, but I think the quality of the result depends on the quality of the displacement map? The lamp has no light in it. I used the Oren-Nayar material in Indigo. I thank that's the reason of the light bouncing of the lampshade.

      Hi Scott,

Yes, I realised that I made the 2d export of SU after updating my model with the new sink after I posted the pics. Oeps πŸ˜„ . A new one is rendering right now with sink. I saw a picture in a magazine of this bathroom and it had the wooden floor. So I think If your aim is right it won't be a problem πŸ˜„ . I choose Indigo specially for the lighting. I dont know what it is, but Indigo has a curtain light to it that I love. And I crancked it up with the pp.

    • RE: World of Houses design challenge by i.materialise

      Hi Guys From I Materialise,

I have a question. I've been working on a model of a house and Its nearly finnished. I was thinking about sending this model as a contribution to the challenge. Iwas just wondering if there are any limitations. The design consists of a boxed shape design, but the walls are covered with woodstrips( 5cm/5cm ) with a spacing of about 4/5 cm between them. The strips are all connected so there are no floating geometry. But I think the woodstrips may be to small for 3d printing.

    • Bedroom Render New PP Filters

      Hi Everybody,

I just finished this scene and render and decided to test some new PP filters. I would love some comments on the Filters. Please point out the one you like most. The models of the closet, the dresser, the bedside tables, and the lamps are mine ( and the room of course πŸ˜„ ). The bed and the rest are from archibase. The bed is very heavy 😞 . but with a little clean up it works. Render was made with Indigo and the files size stretched indigo to its limits I think ( 55mb ). When using displacement on the rug , indigo crashed when I put in 3cm displacment. When I put in 2 cm It worked. πŸ˜• But enough of the jabbering πŸ˜„ here are the pics. Hope you like them.

    • Indigo Bedroom

      Hi everybody,

Here's a bedroom I've been working on. Model made in SU and render done with Indigo. First venture into discplacement πŸ˜„ . Love some feedback on the scene and render. maybe some tips regarding discplacement mapping. I just made discplacement maps with pix plant 2 and loaded them as external maps indigo. I understand that the input is in m so 0.01 wil be a displacement of 1 cm? the other options in Indigo regarding mesh subdivision I dont understand so I left the as they were.

      Hi Jer,

Love the render. nice textures and lighting. Only thing I don't like is the repeating pattern on the left wall.( herhaling van texture op de muur achter de stoel πŸ˜„ ).
Nice to read that you got inspired by my Jimmy Hendrix Room.

    • The Jimmy Hendrix Experience

      Hi Guys,

Been working on this one for a few days now in my spare time. Love his music. Wish I was born a few years ago πŸ˜„ . During the modeling, texturing and rendering I listened to his CD: The Jimmy Hendrix Experience. It helped with the inspiration, haha πŸ˜„ . For those of you who love detail. The covers on the cd's are also jimmy. Love some feedback on the scene and the renders.

    • RE: Some Council Houses!

Nice work as ussual oli πŸ˜„ ,

Can I ask you a question? I've been using Kerky for a while now and love it's options. ( add a displacement option and we have a keeper πŸ˜„ ). I've tried this replacing instances thing, and it worked but the scale of the X-frog tree was to big. When replacing does the X-frog tree take the scale of the instance it is replacing ( or should it? ) because rescaling the trees can be a hard because of the file size.

Hope that my next render isn't too "Illegal" for this international forum πŸ˜„ . But after seeing the model I thought I'd represent Hollands liberal drug policy. I have to give credit to Sketchnl for modeling the Joint.

      Hy Frederik,

Thanx for the feedback.I love Kerky. Been working with it for a year now. Recently gave Twillight a try. Also very nice and I love the Interface. Hope Displacement wil be an option soon. and maybe an upgrade in the Instance spray option in Kerky ( If Kerky is still in active development? ). Something like the ecosystem spray in Vue would be nice πŸ˜„ .
