I'll probably try to sneak into someone's room while they are less than sober and sleep in their closet. So if you notice some extra snoring coming from your closet, its just me! πŸ˜„

I hope for many many pictures throughout this trip. Let us housewives know what's going on.

Ditto I want to feed my curiosity...PLEASE someone post some pictures. Make me regret being too poor to go this year!

Simple but effective..Only comment is that the clothing looks way too big for children. It looks like adult clothing compare the size of the clothing to the little girl. I guess I would have varied the size of the clothing so it was not so uniform. Just my 2 cents.

Peter the client is a friend so I tend to just look at these projects as marketing efforts. In other words I will put in extra effort and time to get images that can be used for my own marketing as well as for use in describing the project to the clients and the contractor.

Dylan. Yep I modeled the house too. It's an existing house though so I did not design it. Just the deck and the doors and windows into the sun room behind the deck.

here is a slideshow of the images mostly straight from Sketchup:

    • Deck Addition (twilight) Rendering

I have not posted in a while. I feel like I am getting a bit better at using Twilight although I still prefer straight up SU output. Here is a recent effort using Twilight Render. When I see all the beautiful images some of you produce I wonder how you found time to learn the software. It's all I can do to get straight Sketchup output done in time. Oh well have a look and as always your comments are welcome.

Thanks Gaieus Yes it's from my email already being harvested by bots. OLM my web host does have a paid subscription to a better spam killer but I wanted to see if I could find a free solution.

    • HELP...server side SPAM filter needed any suggestions

      my website host is OLM.net

I get over 300 spam emails a day....I'm sick of sifting through them to find the 3 or 4 good emails and deleting the rest. My email server uses SpamAssassin which seems fairly rudimentary. In general I have SpamAssassin spam score set to 5 which is right in the middle 0 being the most aggressive and 10 being the most lenient. Here's my issue. I have the settings to mark spam with SPAM but deliver it to my inbox...this allows me to find the few good emails. I tried setting it to KEEP spam emails on the server in a spam folder but it soon fills up and I then can't get any emails at all because my disk usage is exceeded. What I want is the ability to highlight 295 emails that are KNOWN spam and say for in the future delete any messages from these Senders. I don't want to use a white list approach whereby you add good emails to a list.

Anyway does anyone have any suggested server side spam filter that has a good user interface and makes it possible to (DELETE) spam that I tell it to delete but allows all other messages to come to my inbox. I"m willing to take some time to set up the security settings but eventually I want the spam filter to filter out 95% of the real spam and delete it forever but I NEVER want it to delete a real message.

Great rendering...not a fan of the design though. I'm a big person so I'd constantly be knocking my knees on the swooping wood piece below the top.

Its a bit Alice in Wonderlandish and I love it. Could add a bit more dreamyness to it though with more blurring around the edges or "vignetting"

It's not useless...market it. Send this guy an image of it and offer to make some of his real world glass blown pieces into computer 3d art.

There are many other glass blowers whose art could be modeled by someone with your skills.

    • RE: What do your family and friends call you?

Given Name: Philip After my mothers brother

      What I go by: Phil

Office Mates in New York: Thrill as in "Phil the Thrill" Err I was in New York and like to partake in some refreshments

When in Trouble Mom would add my middle name "Philip Jay" but only after putting several of my brothers names first since I was the youngest of ten.

Golf Buddies: "Philly" as in the Cheesestake from the east coast city. Depending on the quality of any particular drive it could be a positive "Philleeeee" with a smile and an ataboy attitude or if the drive is a stinker and ends up in the woods its a "Phileeeee" as in there are no words to describe what I just saw so I'll just say your nickname in a drawn out an better luck next time manner.

My favorite: My Mom used to just call me flip

Yea after some sleep and now that I can think straight you are right...Although It might be a funny juxtaposition. Oh well nothing ventured nothing gained. and I've always been taught that the absolute worst idea you have is the one you never suggest because if you don't suggest it, it has zero chance of success.

Having grown up in Kansas in a small town and visited deserted towns I think your street scenes could benefit from a bit of appropiate entorage such as a tumbleweed. It would further emphasize the desolate nature of the scene

    • RE: Low Res Maxwell Kitchen test (updated with final)
      1. is there going to be a picture in the framed area on the wall located where the perspective lines of the island converge?
      2. Have you thought about having the reveal below the stone top the same color as the gray base it might help reinforce the notion that the slab is floating on top of the island and the countertop.
      3. there is something static or just to similar about the proportions of the open doorway and the "middle picture frame" and small picture frame on the back wall. I almost want the small picture on the right to be changed to a vertical triptic or three square frames on top of each other or just some other shape so the series of shapes on the wall (door, frame, frame) are not so similar in proportion.
      4. on the white wall you have a wall base but on the darker painted wall there is no wall base
      5. Flowers or a bowl of fruit or something with some life to it would look good on the island
      6. what is the diameter of the recessed ceiling lights they look quite small
      7. maybe pull one of the island chairs back a bit or have it askew to give a bit of dynamic energy to the view

OK just my 2 cents worth I do realize that it''s just a preliminary render and judging by the quality of your work I assume that you have thought of all of these already.

      Regards

      Phil
