Thanks for the link.
I’m not looking to use Su17 for modeling, quite happy to continue with Su8 (I know it and it knows me) but to use it more or less as a ‘wedge’ to keep the door to the Warehouse open since support for Su8/13 has been dropped.
I’m looking at treatment and recovery for a serious operation over the next 8-12 months and know I won’t have the energy or focus to hustle for new clients but I’ve very much enjoyed organizing and sharing my models on the warehouse and had hoped to continue with this little project to keep me engaged and busy.
I had sent an inquiry to Trimble to see if it was possible to purchase older versions of Sketchup-15 or 16-but, sadly, not possible.
Thanks,Juliet

RE: Ethical Question
Thanks for your suggestion-probably very good advice. And Ethical.

Ethical Question
If you were to use SU17 Make to only Upload/Download to SU Warehouse but use SU8 for any commercial output-would this be a breach of the Not For Commercial Use for Make?

RE: V-RAY sparkling light
In the rendering software I use (Lightup) it's called a Corona and can be applied on a per light/object basis. Maybe V-Ray has a Corona option, I don't know that particular renderer.

RE: Milestone
Hi David
I think I've probably downloaded these at some point. I'm always blown away by the number of downloads some of my models have and often think...wouldn't it be pleasant if you got a $1 for every download. I'd retire now and just post models all day and check the bank balance once a week.
Congratulations on your popular appeal. -
RE: Realtime ArchViz: SketchUp to Unity Workflow
Great tutorial-thanks!
I've been a user of Lightup https://www.light-up.co.uk for a number of years for rendering and rendered animations. I remember saving these links as something to look into at some future date to be able to import a fully lit and rendered SU file into UnityThe info is quite old but may still be viable......

Import Script: http://www.light-up.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2%26amp;t=403
Unfortunately, there hasn't been alot of support on the Forums lately but if this is still a workable option (SU-Lightup-Unity) perhaps users can answer any questions.

RE: CleanUp - Time Required
Thanks,Kaas I forgot I had that plugin already and on a file with texture it does display the size-very handy.

RE: CleanUp - Time Required
I did use the Resize Texture plugin but there were no textures-hidden or otherwise. Is there a way to quickly check the size of a texture? Perhaps not for this particlar file but in general.
Thanks -
RE: CleanUp - Time Required
That's correct it was quite a bit faster. Ended up being about 1hr and 51mins. With 800KB reduction in the file size.

CleanUp - Time Required
Just started a Cleanup on a downloaded SU Warehouse model. The estimated time required to complete is 4hrs 5 min-could this be right?
Thanks -
RE: Simple Lights
Kerkythea is an amazing free renderer to try out too when you have some time to spend-lots to learn.

RE: Heads Up for SU8/SU2013 Users from SU Warehouse
Just for curiosity's sake-is there a way to quickly filter SketchUcation data to see how many are using which version of Sketchup currently?

RE: Heads Up for SU8/SU2013 Users from SU Warehouse
Is it possible to move this to Sketchup Materials,Components & Styles? Probably not too many Newbies using SU8 somehow.
(Thought I'd created it there.)
-Thanks- -
Heads Up for SU8/SU2013 Users from SU Warehouse

RE: Teenager's room
Again, Thanks
It's been a while since I used KT but I will try it out on a small project. -
RE: Teenager's room
Sorry..thought I was all done..but have 2 more questions.
Do you re-import the KT rendered image back into TW to create the pano and are hotspots created in TW or in Pano2VR?
I'll say Thanks in advance. -
RE: Teenager's room
This is a great idea.
Thank you passing this on - to use the best tools for the job. -
RE: Teenager's room
So modeled in SU and material/lighting setup in Twilight Render then exported to KT to render?
Any reason not to complete the render in TW?
When I tried it (briefly) many years ago I found the output to be 'harsh' looking but it may have been a lack of time/commitment to properly learn the program. KT was a finer output but when clients wanted animations the time required to process a project was way too daunting. -
RE: Teenager's room
Didn't want to lose this thread-it has a lot of great info to save.
Just wondering if all of your renderings posted are created with Twilight Render?
Thanks -
