Oh hell I bought it. I havent even used SU in like three weeks and I bought it anyways lol.

Wow I see my auto smooth idea got put in? I 100% forgot that I had suggested that until just now reading through the script. Now coming back to this I think I have to give it a try again.
I wont lie, when I said 10-15 bucks I was really just hoping thats what it would be. I wont deny this is worth 25-40 dollars worth of work. Well, he deserves several hundred or more for his time really, but per person and all... Although I think it would be more reasonable for people like me who do not use SU for profit if it were in the upper range of Smustard's prices, but not higher.
Personally I think 20 dollars is more than acceptable. But how does that site work? If you pay for a plugin do you get some sort of account or login so you can re-download it at any time? I would hate to not know how it works, get my 20 dollar download then accidentally reinstall XP without backing it up. Although I imagine this has been thought of already correct?
@Kwisten. Do you have a checking account? If so you can probably get a debit card (if you don't have one already). These days debit cards are used everywhere more widely as credit cards for small purchases. At least thats how it is in the US, im not sure where you reside.
If its no more than say... 10-15 bucks I can see myself willingly buying it just to play around with. Anything over that and it would almost be a waste for me to get. I agree that it is a lot of work, and you no doubt deserve to be paid for it, but perhaps you could make a slimmed down version that only does two iterations of subdivision and you dont get creased edges for free?
I noticed the crease tool only displays when you mouse over the edges in the videos. Is there a way to display the state of all creased/uncreased edges? I imagine once you start doing that to a lot of edges it will get hard to remember what is in what state.
Still waiting patiently for this script. Every day I come in just to check this thread for a release.
Actually, if I may point this out... Many truck tires have straight grooves in them all the way around. I have seen dozens of trucks with tires like that.
I am drooling over these images. The best one is the one Coen posted. That simply looked amazing.
Couldn't you just go through the colors after you placed them all and then manually edit each one to the texture you want? this would automatically replace every color in the model with the texture you change it to. I do it on most of my models. Granted my models stink half the time but hey, it works. Like say, you want Grey (or is it Gray ) to be a wall texture on a bunch of different walls, but not all of them. Just paint the grey color on the walls then edit that material later. It also doesnt mess up the default colors of SU and on a new file they load default. Im guessing you use colors as placeholders (thats what I do) because textures slow down SU?
Or am I missing something totally and have no idea what you are talking about ?

I cannot yet give an estimated released date. However, I do hope that beta-testing can begin soon (within a few weeks)
What must I do to beg, bribe or buy my way into beta testing?
My god I think I'm having a mental breakdown waiting for this, I have all these mocked up models waiting to be smoothed.
I'm so excited to get my hands on this. I even went so far as to make another attempt at learning how to use Blender but it goes so against the way I do things on SU that I think I need a living instructor to learn it now.

just make a bright yellow/white cone/cylinder of light. It is used in some video games.
This plugin is for ACTUAL lighting lol. You know, things that light up.
Not a bad idea, but that's not what he is trying to achieve.

Masta, I believe he was referring to the mac with onboard video....
Note that Jason took the photomatch pictures on an overcast day -- great trick since it means that shadows on in SU will work for any time of day.
I wish I could take credit for such foresight but the fact is I live in the Pacific Northwest and I went out to take the pics because it just happened to not be raining that day. lol
And yes I was referring to the onboard video.
Then I stand corrected, sorry lol.
Another case where I had worked all night and by the time morning came around I was brain dead.
Im drooling so hard right now, I spent several hours working to get this:
(Crappy I know, but I'm having trouble getting curves to work in all axis at once.)
As soon as I get my hands on this Ill be able to quickly put together a rough frame then BAM high poly model.
You've got my full support...Not that I can help but hey, best of luck!
I cant imagine how that PC would suck for SU, as I am on a 1.8 ghz celeron with 768 mb of ram and I had no trouble with a model of the city of Atlantis which had 375 thousand faces. And was about 80% textured. At any rate welcome to the forums, and you are already way farther ahead than most. Including me and I just use it for fun also.

i see people complaining about the process of registration. i frankly do not get it. it is similar to the registration process everywhere and i and many others have registered without any problems. i wonder what the problem is...
i am not worried about the number of people that will move with us. the ones who are really interested will move.
And I second that. It didnt seem any more complicated than registering here. In fact, it from what I can remember it is easier.
I dont see Wright's family being sued over certain well known issues that cause boatloads of money to be spent every year on maintenance and repairs.
Honestly it does look great (the building) but I'm sure it could have been done while resolving all the issues that are now present. Then again im no architect, and as was said already there is always two sides to an issue.
Are there any other examples of his buildings having these issues? If this is a one time thing then it might be that it wasnt his fault. Arent all buildings supposed to be put in with proper drainage and such anyways? I thought that was part of prepping the site to be built on or whatever it would be called.
Idk, he could be a kind benevolent ruler. He seems happy, in an "I just spent 15 years of my life on a model car" sort of way.
I heard about those kits and stuff. Apparently you can do it using something like a honda frame and motor then put a ferrari body and everything else over the top of it. Not exactly fast, but it looks just like them.
Idk, it might be hard to breed a 1/4 scale person, that could take longer than the car to produce.
But I gotta admit, that wooden Ferrari is something else entirely.
