@liam887 said: I also brought the machine into work for IT to look at, would point to a hardware failure. For me at work it's pretty rare to see hardware failure with NIC (IRL working as a team leader for the onsite IT support team for a organization with 700+ workstations ). For this year I think I seen only one failed NIC (HP JetDirect card). Anyhow HW failure sounds possible in your case. There is still a little change that some BIOS setting is causing the issue (example some motherboards will start dropping packets if two onboard NICs are enabled (some intel issue). Enabling UEFI boot also may mess NIC (another intel issue).

Processor, memory, and graphics are in the high 7's. I know this is a more or less arbitrary assignment of numbers, but does the SSD, bring your numbers up to the high 7's? I will check when I get it back to my house, currently in a taxi My number was 8, but I still havent had all the drivers installed and running two 32" Tv's as monitors, not sure how those things can alter the results. Here are a few pics of the machine too. [image: qcUg_1.jpg] [image: hFJK_2.jpg] [image: GSlG_3.jpg] [image: mpIZ_4.jpg] [image: ARXe_1600.jpg]

@hellnbak said: @liam887 said: @hellnbak said: You list wood among the materials it can use to print. Wood? How does it do that? http://www.wired.com/design/2012/11/3d-printer-wood-filament/ I'll be darned. Can you imagine where this technology is going to be in the near future? Actually that's the reason I've decided to hold off on getting one, I want to let it "cook" for a while (and like any new play-purty the prices will undoubtedly come down as it gets perfected. Jeez, I hate waiting. Instant gratification, that's my thing Well I felt the same and this wasnt the printer I wanted but for $700 (including an attachment to print in wood, wax, ABS plastic and more for an extra $99, international shipping and insurance) it was a steal. I will play with this for a year or so and make enough money to pay for it and then eventually buy another one in a year or so. Shame I have to wait for so long but I have my laser scanner to play with until then. I just got a new camera form Amazon and projector (borrowed from a colleague) to make the David Laser Scanner even more awesome! Going to scan in my head, print it in wax and make a 'head candle' . Perhaps we can turn your chevy into a candle also! The most complicated candle ever made! First things first have to scan in this RC aircraft and have all the parts ready for printing. Starting with something smaller to get me going [image: CHNu_scan.jpeg]

@d12dozr said: Nice! I'd love to hear about your experience with it after you've had it for a while...about printer setup, performance, etc. ...and see some photos too! Yeah no problem. Not the printer I want ideally but good enough for the basic stuff. I should be able to get enough work through it to raise enough money to purchase a more expensive one later down the line. When it gets delivered I will be sure to post some images on here.

Used lighting makes the model flat. Like Rich said, I'd use some suitable studio HDR, like zbyg's HDRI packs 1-3. Also material do affect a lot. As model if fairly simple, you could try some sss material. If your model is sized 10-20 cm scale, you can use these 3D printing materials (just change color to your need and maybe extra coating layer if needed).

I hope not although I hate the Virgin Food and you should really have free wifi! I meant why so long to railroad completion (2054)! LOL I don't mean YOU have to hurry on your model! We could really use one of those out here on our West Coast and soon. and...it's looking good!
