I did a breakdown of the layers here. Maybe 118 layers in total grouped into 10 categories here. Used Thea for the reflection pass. I will be doing illustration breakdowns and tutorials with SketchUp at basecamp if I catch any of you there. Yes agreed, the deliverable for the client was just the model but I needed something poppy for my instagram, I found the red of the cut a good contrast to the red on the posters. I also missed some of the section cuts by the doors, nooooo........ :0(

I haven't use it yet. But I find it a great idea. Not that long ago I was talking to my 10 years old son about the possibility of giving a workshop of sketchup at his school to teach them some basic skills on drawing 3D, but since they use chromebooks in the classroom it was not possible. Well, this web based app has make it possible!!

I reckon Liam has a good chance with his entry, there is a good level of competition but hopefully he takes it.

Maersk Line Orbital freighter in Neptune orbit. Powered by eight VASIMR plasma driven engines (variable specific impulse magnetoplasma rocket), the freighter moves bulk cargo from low orbit to high orbit where it’s transferred to larger interplanetary freighters. The VASIMR engine is highly efficient compared to a traditional chemical engine able to move 34 metric tons of cargo to a higher orbit for only 8 tons of expended fuel. However the trade off is that it’s incredibly slow taking months to achieve this rather than days. Therefore crews in the haulage business will typically sign up for a 12 month round trip tour. Although this type of work does not pay very well compared to the 10+ year interstellar tours, the trade off is that you always get a good view and are no more than eight hours from a conversation with home. Yep thats the one, nice, I didnt know you could so particle displacement in Blender but then again what cant Blender do! If I wasn't such an idiot I would hopefully like to learn that, I am still stuck in the 2D realm of software with the exception of sketchup!

Nice models, a pity that both littoral combat vessels AND the Zumwalt class have failed tests for resistance to sea skimming missile attacks. The littoral ships are not going to be pursued and the Zumwalts severely cut back to just 3 ships. All that money in development just running down the drain.

Very nice. Are you going to add some aircraft to the flight deck? looking at pictures of the actual ship, the bottom of the hull is dark gray, not orange (or red, like the designer's original renderings)
