SKP to Stl
-
Hi all
My latest client needs a model in .stl for printing. In the past I have got away with .3ds or even .skp.
Any ideas or plugins that can help me out?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Liam

Unfortunately the forum search ignores anything less than four characters - making searches for "STL" impossible.

This plugin works fine but depending of the computer!
Seems there is a little glitch also with the path folder...In my case
on my old computer (10 years old) v6, v7: nothing import exporton a new computer v8 no problem import export
so I put the file STL exported in a USB key from my modern computer! So now my old computer can import the STL file from the USB key!
And can also export any file as STL on the USB key but not on the desktop! If this can help!
I have used this version -
Pilou - are you using non-ASCII characters in the filename or path? SU Ruby cannot handle those types of files - there is no Unicode support.

Simlab Composer can export to STL, I can help you do that if you want.

@Thomthom
Not specially but the Windows French system has nativelly some accents on the path folders!
That can explain old computer works only -->usb key ?The curious thing is that the modern computer is also in Widows French version
I must see if by hasard on the modern computer I was tested exporting only on the USB key

I used it and worked great. However...
There can be no hidden lines and no hidden lines from intersections. All edges must meet each other perfectly. There can be no interior geometry. The printer is only thinking of your object as one continuous surface.
Let me know if you have any other questions. I used this for my first paid model. (the white shape)
