RE: [REQ] Convert ALL components to groups?
What about G2C?
Is this still not possible at this time? -
RE: [REQ] Double Offset
Would be nice. I guess I'm being greedy.

RE: Arcgis9
Trying to install the lastest version of GIS v9.2 and nothing is showing up on the menu.
How do I get the sketchup plugin to show up on the menu?

RE: Arcgis9
I have the same question as Gaieus, does GIS contain it 3d information importable to sketchup? Is this infact the best (most cost effective) method for getting existing info into su for 3d manipulation? Having street,sidewalk,3d countour and building footprint and heights would be ideal (maybe existing trees too).
Thanks for the link Gaieus.

RE: Arcgis9
Ehaflett , thank you, thank you, thank you!
I'll have to digest some of this. This is exactly what we need it for. We are looking at a about 16 city blocks of planning that we will be involeved in to do exactly this. I'm sure I will have question later.BTW, how is this better or different than what google and microsoft are doing.
I also heard from a co-worker that it is possible to have 3d information including building and terrain from satellite informationAgain, thanks

RE: Landscape render Kerky
Thanks,
@Bubba , I tend to agree with you on the evergreens. If I understand you correctly you mean the look of 3d tree vs 2d tree.
I need to find some good tiff files for evergreens. These were 3d which look strange when fully rendered. The plants and flowers are a face me images in su. -
Arcgis9
Where can I get information about arcgis9? Our urban planning department has ask me to look into info regarding how we can use it with sketchup. I need more information on how su works with this program and applications. I'm not familiar with arcgis but I'm an expert with sketchup and autocad.
Any tutorials on how this works?
Thanks!!!

Displaytemplate.rb & ado .rb
Have they been updated to be used with the current version of SU.
These were very useful scripts. -
RE: F1 for Kids by Bonnie Roskes
I made a visit to my Mom's school. And the teacher had a smart board and had me hook up Su to the smart board. The kids had no trouble understanding basic concepts of painting in color putting objects like cars and people etc into the scene, just by draging with there hands on the smart board. It was an amazing thing to watch. Infact they taught me how skecthup can works with a smart board. It was majical.

2nd life.
Does anyone know anything about this? It seems like good opportunity to create and make profit at same time. I heard of it some time ago but paid no attention. It appears to be growing in popularity. A virtual world of sorts, where real transactions are made.
Bartels it I can see some of your cribs in this environment or anyone from this creative group of people. I think the sketch bunch should build there own Island;)

RE: Barack Obama - What a surprise!
You actually made my point. Not a darn thing they can do about it. But you must know that the market these day's is more about perception vs reality. There is alot of speculation about what might happen that's driving the market up vs actual supply/demand of oil.

RE: Barack Obama - What a surprise!
If they could change anything why aren't they changing gas prices now. Are not these guy's already in office? We still have a president and congress. Why do they have to wait to be president before change happens? Everyone wants lower gas prices, right. That would be a welcomed change now!

Online stock trading
What's the best online trading program? I remember the day's of DLJ and other's where there weren't as many fees as in the accounts today. You were only charged for the transaction you made. Then after the market got bad. They were charging for lack of trading.
Anyone trade online these days? -
RE: SketchUpBBS new works
The Chinese are very detail orienated. Love this stuff. We have become to watered down in comparison.
Their texture and detail is amazing and rich. I wish I could view that site. -
RE: Barack Obama - What a surprise!
It definitly matters. Just look what we have now. I guess it can only get better

It's not a coincidence that the smears just started recently, remember this man has been a U.S. senator for 2 years without much negative fan fare. I'm sure you can find another source on the internet that supports the other side.
He's still human you know. -
Modeling joints or reveals
Does anyone know of a way to turn lines on a model into reveals? Ie. if you have drawn all your joints on a particular surface with one line and then wanted to to come back later to model the actual joint with given width and depth is this possible with ruby. I know it increase poly count but sometimes this is neccessary for close ups. Also if using a rendering program the single lines don's show up. It would be like a routing tool.
- Select line(s)
- define router shape (this would typically be a rectangle)
- routelines

RE: Lost ability contextual right click
The key to installing projection tools is to follow instructions
.
Just incase someone else runs into this problem, read instruction carefully before unzipping rubies in folder. Instruction say to delete several other scripts before installing. This was the problem. Other scripts which should be erased were in conflict with projection tools.
