Got it to work. Make sure you have the latest ruby
Now I need to find practical ways to apply it.
Where would one get or create the data files where they could be applicable?

RE: Procedural terrains
Gaieus,
Can you post a test file or link to a data file? I would like to test the cloud ruby. -

RE: Procedural terrains
Thanks for the assist Gaieus. I could never get that Heightfield to work with anything of significant size. This was some time ago, I gave up
Maybe it's improved by now. It's in the right hands now. Here are some old links for more background:

RE: Procedural terrains
Have you done any experimenting with Heightfield ruby? Where displacement is done by a grey scale image. The darker areas are the lowest point and the highest point are light.

RE: Windowizer problem?
Rick, could you point me to an illustration. I'm sorry I'm still not understanding your explanation
We may be talking about different things. I guess I mean frame depth.
I have to push-pull frame depth manually, right? -
RE: Car Crash WIP *Now with Video*
You can't have a good render without a good model but you can have a good model without a render.
I wish I had your skills wow!

RE: Rendered bathrooms
Nice Fredrick, How do you know which IES light to use? Most are very similar in look to me.
Is there some rational way to pick from the very many vs trial and error? I recall seeing a distibution chart and again there are so many that seem to be really close in value of how they look. -
RE: [Tutorial > Modeling] How to draw road markings
Pav,
I think we have another way of achieving this. I would draw my plan lines and drape them over the terrain. The terrain has to be mesh though. The lines will cut faces in the terrain and then paint faces

RE: [Plugin] 3d Shapes Tool (was: Pyramid Tool)
Can parametric tool be added this. After or during adding shape you can change radius or height parameters. VCB stuff you know. Now this would be fantastic!!!

RE: Tall grass
Thanks guy's. Gaius that grass is beautiful, I'll use that on close ups. If you look closely at the photo it's more like small clusters of bushes as grass. I'm trying to mimic the texture and controlled shape. Maybe I'm too picky
Here's the scene I will be using.
ps at this dist Kris's grass may work fine, I'll try it.
