Sorry Hornoxx, i was only refering to the origin of this thread. Not to anything you said. I should have used the quote funcion, so my fault. And by the way I would have thought English was your first language

RE: Lamp or End Table ???
Google " custom lampshade makers" in your area. They are more common than you think.

Yours looks quite a bit better than mine. Could you give a point form explanation as to how you went about achieving that?
I second that, would be greatly appreciated. Very impressive

Inviting you to show your result if you wish to, I am curious

RE: Planes, trains and automobiles (1947)
I agree, the last one is cool. Just needs some people to bring it alive

RE: Image Transparency
Hi, the problem comes from the image of the person it was probably shot under lights not outdoors and does not show favourably in the context of Sketchup. I am sure it could be fixed by somebody who is competent in photoshop.
If you just need an image, do a render and have the Sun set to correspond with the lighting in the model. If you don,t render, shoot me the model and I will do a render and get it back to you. -
Defaulting to SU 2018
I downloaded 2018 for a look. Now every time I download from 3D warehouse it opens in 2018, but I want it to open in 2017. If I download in SU 18 and save as 2017 it says the file was made in a later version and will not let me open it. I am perplexed does anyone have a work around? without uninstalling 2018 which I will do after the trial period.
Cheers

You should go into production with these hornoxx. I guess if you won't, someone else will...
Agreed Jql, that is really nice work, and such an appealing design/Designs. I would do some research and find a manufacturer. Hornoxx I you are thinking of doing that I would delete your 3D warehouse models ASAP

RE: Little help?
I think you are on the right track. You will need to right click intersect faces then remove bits you do not need. I suggest you scale up the "Cutting bits" so the edges go beyond the faces of the bits you will need to avoid any confusion when sketchup intersects.

Looking for a brief or challenge....Please.
Hello all, its hot out there ...approaching 38C today, so I will be staying indoors but need a "mission" and I want to produce something for my sketchup and rendering folio.
I am not sure how to pose this, but I would like to start a thread to invite a brief/briefs from forum members that others could respond to, rather than concocting their own. Would anyone care to post any ideas to those ends? -
RE: Christmas doodle
A belated thank you Pbacot and Chris for the wishes and comments.I wrongly called that a "doodle" it started that way but in fact it became quite laboured Hope you both have a great year and beyond

RE: SubD examples and models
Hi Hornoxx, would you mind giving us a look at the model before you subdivided? I am curious about SubD.

RE: Cant match the floors in my model
If I read correctly you have not drawn them accurately. They will never align as drawn.

RE: Cant match the floors in my model
Could you also attach a prior Skp version say 16 or 17?

RE: Berney Arms Drainage Mill
"Physical sky" is new to me. Is that done in sketchup and translated by your render engine or is it the render engine where it is applied?
