Last night after reading with horror the su teams responses to criticism about the "upgrade", (if we're in an arms race with the users, if we gave you more power you'd only use it and want more? What the flying ****.)
I tried once again to use blender. (I've tried once or twice a year since about 2009) this time, I get it. 2.8 is the blender update we all wanted...
So count my vote for a blender forum.

then how did they get it so wrong on what their users want and expect? not just here, but on their own forum, facebook, youtube....

Part of the problem is, the only pressing need to update (sorry this is not an upgrade) is to maintain the ability to use the latest killer extensions.
Funnily enough, I've actually been dumping a lot of extensions in favour of doing it manually.....
Gonna have a long think today about my sketchup future. Looking more and more like I'm moving on.

if there was an update to SketchUV, which it keeps telling me to update...and there's no update... but it keeeps aaaaskiingggggggggg..
(all I get is "failed to update SketchUV. Unable to read extension archive.")
I think it's time to move outta my comfort zone. I have Silo and Hexagon.. and if I grit my teeth theres blender...
but none of them have the ease of Sketchup.
well I'm going to say it.
this is not value for money. compare 2019 to 18,17,16....
minor additions (at best) that could have (should have) been a point update over several versions. ignoring the polls of what ppl actually want. now a new connect service ... cos the cloud is trendy.
sigh
and ppl will defend these moves. not admitting the program is stagnating and they are relying more and more on the community to provide their own solutions via extensions..

Hmm new license areas aside, not to impressed with only minor adjustments to the program and minor feature adds.

Shared Memory usually means the memory is split between OS/Programs and Graphics
so say you've got 4GB, you'd have 3GB for OS/Programs and 1GB allocated for the graphics.

The multi-core idea has been discussed lots of times before, with technical explanations of why it is not feasible. So, don't hold your breath!

ok in 2016, I have hardware on, fastfeedback on, no issues with lag at all.
no 3Dconnexion devices.
will try 2017 with fastfeedback off...

if a Geforce 1060 is not upto the task... we're all in serious doodoo....
and no option for hardware acceleration in SU...? (unless you mean fast feedback?)
what if your getting this slow down.. and have NO intel graphics? I get it on my rig and went down to 2016 make.. 2017 rapidly becomes useless due to lag.
Oh I and should add. Deal breakers for the Web version...
