Thanks Chris. I wanted to get started and this appears as something I can do.

Just a note, seems to me you must have 30 hours in your day.

      Thanks

    • RE: Can not export to DWG or DFX

I used the same download that gave me ver Ver 7.0.1024. Which I again downloaded just a couple of weeks ago. And Sketchup worked OK, except the problem I have been having making components, which I still haven't sorted out. Now, I just make a group before trying to make a component. Haven't been able to find out the problem, so making a group was my work around.

However, with this problem, on further investigation, I can export 3d DWG. So it is only with the 2d dwg I am having a problem.

Thanks for you very quick reply Gaieus.

    • Can not export to DWG or DFX

I have Pro Ver 7.0.1024, a Dell Precision M65 laptop. The laptop had two 1 gig memory modules in place for a total of 2 gigs of memory, operating system, XP pro, Ver 2002, Service Pack 2. I had installed, Qty of 2, 2 gigs memory modules for a total of 4 gigs, of which the computer show a total of 3 gigs.

After the install, I cannot export to DWG or DFX. Error, saying maybe I have the file open with another program.

I re-installed Sketchup, still the same problem.

So is Sketchup not able to use the extra memory? I really need the ACAD export.

      Attached is the error window.

    • RE: Unknown error loading SketchUp

Well I loaded and unloaded scripts until the date error disappeared. However, right now I forget what script was the cause. I know that does not help much. I remember that I could not find out what the offending script did. I will look into my old scripts directory when I get home to see if I can find the offending script. Should be home by middle of June.

One thing I did learn, that removing a script might make the problem go away, however, reloading the script may not bring back the problem.

Right now, I am having problems with and error on components making, I have went though all my scripts, and found that a section of five scripts may remove the problem, note, it doesn't seem to be the same 5 scripts, but removing each one of the five will not give the same results, in other words make the problem go away. It is hard to track down an offending script. Right now, I need to get something done, so I just make sure I make the entry into a group before I make it into a component. My work around this problem.

Looks as if I have lost the ability to make components. Recieved the following error code, however, not a bug splash.

Google I hope your out there.

I am still having some problems. If I install FS, Ver. 2 with FS, Ver. 1 installed I get the message below, pic. V1&2. If I removed Ver. 1, than I get the next message, pic. V2 only.

After I click the OK, the script seems to work OK.

      Thanks for the script.

      @dave r said:

Ken, did you install LibFredo6 version 3.1? It is linked to in the first post of the thread.

Yes, I did install LibFredo6 version 3.1. However, I didn't remove all of the old program, I just renamed the directories until I was sure this version would work.

Now, however, I did remove all of the old directories, I now have this error.

Working my way to total victory.

      Thanks for the replies

    • RE: Organize plugins?

I have and use this plugin http://www.alexschreyer.net/projects/plugin-loader-for-sketchup/.

I use the following Plugin folder layouts.

Plugin – This is where I store every plugin that I want to run automatically.

Also I have plugin in this directory that I wish for the Plugin-loader to install and not be loaded automatically. These plugins, I remove the file type .rb, just leaving the file name as “GetLines” not “Getlines.rb.” This way, the plugin remains in the plugin folder, but will not be loaded autmatically. But will load with the plugin-loader, because "plugin-loader" adds the file extension, “.rb”.

And the plugins that I wish to be loaded by the “plugin-loader” that I have chosen to remain in the plugin folder, I will remane by adding a number the front to the name, such as “1 – Getline.rb”. This will put the plugin at the top of the plugin in folder so I don’t have to hunt for it down in the directory.

Other plugins I move to one of the following directories below, selecting it from the “plugin-loader“ when I wish to run the plugin. Works like a charm.

Another thing I do, is I rename the plugin, i.e. Getline.rb may be renamed “To Get All Loose Lines– Getline.rb”. Note, I usually have the original name after the “-“ so I always know what the original plugin name was for future reference.

I do this reference annotation renaming so I have some hint of exactly what the plugin does. I have not found a plugin that would not run from plugin-loader that I have rename by this method.

My directory loayout, and I am thanking Didier Bur for the layout from his web page.

      000 Steel Beams Angle
      001 Animation – Scenes – Camera
      002 Architecuture
      003 Geometry – Drawing
      004 Editing
      005 Material – Colors – Rendering
      006 Selection – Layers
      007 Survey - Terrain Contour
      008 Text
      009 Files – Import – Export
      010 Google Earth
      011 Misc
      012 Zip – Zar – Scripts
      013 Script TXT Files
014 Data Files for Script Testing
      015 Plugin exe Install files
      016 Script Tutorials

Hopes this helps. I know it cleaned up my drop drown plugins list.

    • RE: [Plugin] Plugin Loader for SketchUp

      Hi Alex

I use you plugin “Loader” and greatly appreciate all the work you have done. My drop down plugin menu, is now shorter and manageable.

Along with all the new directories I have for plugins, I now have a directory called Test Plugin, that I store new plugins until I am sure they work as advertised.

Some time ago, I had a plugin that was causing an error on loading Sketchup. It took some time to test each and every plugin to find the culprit. So, I was wondering how hard, for me it would be impossible, to add a menu items, an unload separate, or unload directory to your plugin.

Again thanks for all you work.

      Ken

Oops! I guess I should have read your web page completely. Never mind.

      Again thanks.

    • Unknown error loading SketchUp

Around two weeks ago, I started getting this load error. Moreover, I hadn’t loaded any new scripts at that time.

      "Error Loading File date.rb
      uninitialized constant DateTime"

Not sure, what script is causing this. Tried looking for a Date.rb. So far I have not found a script called "date.rb", that I believe is to used with SketchUp.

Anyone know what is causing this error?

      Thanks in advance
