    • RE: Watch out Google!!

I am convinced. At the moment it's simply not good enough. With a google search you can quickly turn the search into an image or video search, search maps etc. With cuil you can't do any of that, you just get an extra image by the side of the searches, and often that image will be repeated numerous times even when the site has nothing to do with the subject.

I don't see why anyone would use cuil over google at this time.

csome - You might want to look at this for reference material when modeling your Eva:

I might apply for it. I wouldn't have an issue with him charging $129 and only paying me $50. I wouldn't want the hassle of setting up a website and finding customers, but getting paid to model buildings in my spare time sounds sweet.

I wanted to ask something.. the other day i was tryng to make "EVA" from the movie "Wall - e" but i dont have any plug int installed yet, and i tried to make it with The Sandbox tool, but i get no goods results.
Its better to use the plug in "Subdivide And Smooth" from Smurstand?... In that case, i will buy it hehe...
Cya and congrats for your efforts!
      Regards from argentina!

I don't think you need to buy subdivide and smooth for that. I think you should be able to model Eva using the follow me tool. This tutorial is to create a sphere, but if you just draw an Eva-like shape instead of using a circle you should be fine:

      Subdivide and Smooth:

http://www.smustard.com/script/SubdivideAndSmooth This costs $22 though. Most people on here will swear by it though.

      Soap Skin Bubble:

http://www.tensile-structures.de/sb_software.html No charge, but it will run out on the 10th September and give a warning each day Sketchup is used to that effect.

Looks pretty cool, although the ceiling of the top floor looks a bit low, might just be the perspecttive though.

I think it's too low as well. The house is a very small house. That's fine, as I've got it down as a holiday/second home in which space isn't much of an issue. But to make up for a small size I'd have ceilings higher than normal, rather than lower or normal height.

      Thanx for your comment James.
I'm still working on the deck. Not sure if I want to add a railing though. I kinda like the idea of the freedom you have when there is no railing / barrier.

If that was my house, then I wouldn't want a railing or barrier either. I'd want to enjoy the views undisturbed, not have to peer through a railing.

    • RE: Help - Ruby to delete all faces w/o affecting edges?

Don't think you need a ruby to do it.

Just turn off the edges (View-Edge Style-Display Edges), then select all the faces and delete them. Then display the edges again and you should be left with the wireframe only.

Picture 1. The line of trees on the left hand side is too distracting. Way too many people, and they seem to like being in the road when cars are driving around.

Picture 2. The trees in this picture are even more distracting. Too many people again.

Picture 3. Trees too distracting again. Too many people again.

Picture 4. Too many people, but otherwise very good.

Picture 5. Really good. The shadow of the tree in the left hand corner looks a little strange in relation to the rest of the picture though. There aren't very many visible shadows in the picture so it stands out. The water in the entrance doesn't look right. The entrance wall with the sign seems to be curved, but the writing seems to be flat and to the left rather than the centre.

    • RE: La loft revisited

I may be in a very small minority here, but I preferred the space when it was just the sofas. Then the view was everything and it was a breathtaking space. A space that only the ultra-rich could afford, but that's one of the many perks of being ultra-rich.

To critique this render. The rug is curling up way too much, and personally I don't think someone who can afford this type of place would be accepting of a rug curling up like that. Another problem is the way the light in the room doesn't match the light outside.

loving your work ray, very nice.

just one request, a small one really, can we have a render of a full car, maybe at more of a distance that you have previously posted, so we can geta feel for the car "as a whole" as you very rarely see either solely the front or rear?

keep up the good work dude

      pav

The images are of the full car, they just don't appear to be on the forum. If you're using the Firefox browser then you'd just need to right click> View Image and then you'd see the whole of the car.

If you're using IE, you could right click on the image, get the web address of the image from the properties, and paste the web address in the browser to see the full image.

I'm not defending this guy, or anything, I just want to say that I have a problem buying this plugin myself. The site rejected my mastercard. I have a money enough to buy it, so it is not the problem. The site constantly sends error rejecting my card. Maybe guy had the same problem, and maybe that is why he asked it in the first place.

Is this an entry into a lamest excuse competition? If it is then you've got a great chance of winning.
