Just draw an outline of the stand, then use the follow me tool around the pitch and the stadium will be pretty much done.

RE: Hi, need help with modeling a stadium
Here are all of my stadiums on 3D Warehouse. Stadiums are my favourite thing to build with Sketchup.
I'd say the best way to start is with the pitch. Then work from there. Are you designing your own stadium from scratch or do you want to take elements of existing grounds?

RE: 3d Models ++++
You can download them in the dxf file format.
Click on an item, just underneath the highlighted "Catalogue and price request to manufacturer" there will be another option to "Download CAD / PDF Files".
I think I struck it really lucky on my first try. That had an option to download a CAD fine, the next 10 items I clicked on didn't.

P.S. There was one hell of a lot of discussion and positive response to your scripts at Base Camp 2008. Even more surprising though was number of "professional" users who were totally unaware of the forum and the work that scripters here have been producing. I hope Google WILL DO MORE to enhance (promote) the "VISIBILITY" of this forum on their sites.

You've got to admit, that's much more interesting for most people than finding out news of a thriving SU community or the great work that's been done with Ruby's. Carry on Google staff, thrill us with tales about odd socks, navel lint, money lost in the sofa...

This tutorial is for Maya, so I'm sure that a lot of it won't apply to SU, but I thought you might be interested anyway:

and stinkie, my parents are gonna kill me for saying that. they are so paranoid they have gone so far as to purposely install spyware on my computer, a spyware that sends them emails tells them:
A) what aplication i've been using and for how long
B) if that app happens to be internet, it tells them where i've been and for how long
C) and... this one is the worst... what ever i've typed. thats right, ZERO privacy, none, zip, silch, nada. they are going to see that i typed this when the next email arives.i HATE it. its called E-Blaster (sounds like something from the 90's, where everything was prefixed with "e") and the thing is, if i get a spyware remover and get it off, they will know and just put it back on and revoke the computer for about 3 months to never.
and yes, it pisses me off. big time.
There's an episode of South Park (which your parents probably forbid you from watching) where the moronic parents of South Park end up sending all the children away because they have terrified themselves so much by watching the news reports. First the news reports said that strangers were a danger so all the kids had to wear ridiculous homing beacons in case they were kidnapped. Then the news reports said that it wasn't strangers that were the main danger to kids, it was actually people they knew - like neighbours or relatives. Then the reports said that most child abuse actually happened in the home, which gave the parents the bright idea that the kids weren't safe in their own homes, so they sent them off to fend by themselves.
Your parents are South Park parents. Parents so scared of what they see on the media that they end up doing utterly stupid things in the name of protecting you.
Sure, they should keep an occasional eye on you and check that you are not doing anything daft. They should advise you of the possible dangers that are out there. But installing a program like that on your computer is completely and utterly wrong. Teenagers need an element of freedom to learn about who they are.
I feel really bad for you. I hope your parents are otherwise good, decent parents, but in this situation they totally suck.

If you want to see his pictures and they are just coming up as red crosses you can just right click on the crosses, click on Properties, then highlight the web address, copy it, then paste the address straight into your web browser.

My 2d Exports
All models available on the 3D Warehouse. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/search?uq=03918786441184062862
The See The City Image is a WIP copied from an ad for a book called See The City by Matteo Pericoli. I'd have thought that fellow SketchUpers would be interested in his drawings so I'll put a link to his website: http://www.matteopericoli.com/default.html
The Dali painting I didn't really finish properly because I got bored doing it. I was going to model the cliffs and paint my own sky but I ended up just cribbing one of the references I was using instead. I might get round to finishing it someday, but I think I'd probably just start again from scratch though.

RE: Curtains using FFD and JPP (rendered in KT2008)
The modelling look excellent and the rendering looks very realistic.
I don't understand why you positioned the image like that though. It's like someone stood on a stepladder to take a picture of the reflection of furniture in the window.

I haven't said my appreciation or derision's worth anything, now have I?
So what exactly did you mean when you said, "Harsh as it may sound, I reserve my appreciation for those, be it architects, artists, composers or writers, who succeed. If I wouldn't, what would my appreciation be worth?"
To me that seems to be very clear that you are making out that your appreciation is worth something.

I just wanted to point out I'd rather throw roses at Bach than at Jon Bon Jovi. I wish mr. Bon Jovi all the succes he desires, but I insist on maintaining a very clear distinction between quality and mediocrity.
But as you reserve your appreciation for those who succeed, surely if Mr. Bon Jovi gets all the success he desires you will then appreciate him?

Unlike Fred, I am not very willing to give the architect of this house props for trying. Harsh as it may sound, I reserve my appreciation for those, be it architects, artists, composers or writers, who succeed. If I wouldn't, what would my appreciation be worth?
What do you think your appreciation is worth? I think it's worth the same as your derision - nothing.
To only reserve your appreciation for those who succeed seems pretty simplistic to me. What if the architects, writers or composers who "fail" push the boundaries so that later artists "succeed" later on? Without the failures you won't have the successes.

Personally i dont think its that bad, ive certainly seen a lot worse.
Wether its worth the cash tohugh, thats another question. Really for anything like this (a small housing project) i dont think it can be justified, theres jsut nothing there thats actually physically worth the money, its all down to perceived value (kind of like art) and how much people are willign to pay for it (or not if it does turn out to be a hoax )
p.s. is it the whole housing development thats being sold? if so this seems pretty reasonable really (i'll take two.)
It's just this house.
$14m for this house can easily be justified if you're someone like Roman Abramovich. He's just spent over $100m on paintings. He's spent hundreds of millions on yachts and Chelsea Football Club, so $14m for a house like this wouldn't mean much.

I can't imagine someone being so foolish to actually spend 17 mill on a fart like that.
They aren't. The price is Β£7.2million, someone else has converted that to $14m, and you've pulled the figure of $17m out of the air.
@unknownuser said:
That's why I think the 'news value' of this article is a hoax....maybe just to promote the lousy architect in a not so decent way?
There are 22 houses in the project. Will Alsop is another of the architects involved in designing a house.

Experimenting is to be applauded...I love to do it myself, but actually building this thing? Come on..!
I'm neither for or against this design, but I think it could still look really good when built.
@unknownuser said:
There are way better examples of ecological building...and with a high architectural value.
This has none.It obviously has some architectural value, seeing as you were claiming earlier in this thread that it cannot even be built.
