I recently downloaded some vray tutorials from nomeradona’s blog. Now i want to convert the web pages that were saved to pdf files. I tried acrobat and dopdf7 to convert them but the result that i get is that of a white background with all the formatting lost. I want to make a pdf with the formatting preserved how can i do this?

How can I disable the red diamond the opens on start-up. I changed the value of the next update check to 999 days but I see the Ruby Diamond often in 2-3 days.

I’m trying to render a scene [interior scene] with Omni light on. I have low GI value set to 1. But in the final render, vray considers only the natural light and ignores the artificial lighting [Omni’s and rectangular] that I’ve put up in my room. Where I’m going wrong?

Yeah I know, well, this works for trees only. this ain't working for Adam's plants

I recently downloaded 2d Photographic plants uploaded by Adam hails .Brilliant brilliant stuff man. I moved them to my SU components folder [in the program files}. Now I want that whenever I use any of the components, their vray alpha transparency map gets attached to them automatically in any of the models in which they are used. So I added alpha maps using vray material editor in the original component file. But unfortunately when I use the plants in other sketchup model, I have to reattach the alpha map for each of them separately. Is there any way to edit the original component file in such a way that their alpha maps get attached to them forever.?

So what should I do then? I can't figure out where i'm going wrong. I did nothing on the reverse face initially and I was still facing a problem . So is a bump map necessary then? I'm new to vray . So please bear with me

No I did not. i eventually tried to render by applying material on reversed face but i get the same result . I'm using Vray 1.49

Im trying to render a cuboid whose lower end has tiles and the upper face has water. But when I render the scene the tile don’t show up. It shows up as white What should I do?

I'm using AutoCAD and it offers a vast variety of OSNap options. Is there any setting/plugin for sketchup too? Sometimes i'd like to shorten the snap sphere[that reference point] because often i'm zoomed out of my model and would see clearly my snap point of model.

does anyone know of links where i can get presets settings in visopt format for different time of the day, i.e. morning, evening, afternoon, night, etc. ? Im a vray novice so such presets will be of great help

i'm trying to make blue glass in sketchup. i use fresnel for glass but the glass doesn't give any reflection. attached is the sample file. i'm using vray 1.49.01. I made the window using windowizer tool.

actually i searched but a lot of posts containing the word trees came up. it was greatly difficult to find my requirement in that huge no. of posts.

I’m trying to make photorealistic hedge liners by creating boxes and painting them with grass. These would be seen from a distance in renders. However, they are not looking realistic. Can anyone suggest seamless hedge textures with transparency. I also require beautiful 2d photorealistic trees and plants for elevational purposes. Can anyone suggest a good link for 2d photographic trees, hedges, etc.

I’m creating a spaceframe [made up of cube units] in SketchUp. I’ve created one component of a square frame and array it to get the desired mass. But in doing such activity, I increase the mass of spaceframe. This happens because AD and CB overlap each other. Only CB member is required in making as AD is just a duplicate. Is there any dynamic component available [only a cube wireframe.] that makes an efficient spaceframe, without increasing the poly count in model?

Hmm.. i haven’t seen values auto adjusting themselves as they do in podium when the sliders slide automatically. do the layers auto adjust too?

In Su podium there’s a thumb rule. That the sum percentage of diffuse, reflection and transparence of a material should not exceed 100. In vray, is there any such thumb rule? I”m new to vray and often get unexpected results because i don’t know of any such 100% balance thing. My vray version is 1.49.01
