Clem,
I would direct your problem to the Twilight forum or their support.
Rendering time can change dramatically due to lights, materials & model complexity.
Good luck!

RE: Resellers - how long does it take to send new codes?
It took about 2 hrs on from the news release from our resellers - http://www.see-it-3d.co.uk/ for the licenses to be forwarded through on 04/11/2014.

Decrease the minimum on Network licensing.
How low? 2 would be nice. I have 6 potential users, who may jump between 7 computers depending on the task (one computer is a render or complex model computer for all to use). However, each user only uses the program in sparse bursts, only up to 3 at once, but I'm not allowed to have a network because 50 seats in a small office is insane. This becomes very annoying.
I will gladly pay more per seat to unlock network licensing.
We have a 3 user network license, originally purchased for version 6. I think new copies are still available.
My wish - restore the fileserver based network license sharing, rather than the new web based version, as per my gripe on http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15%26amp;t=59771

RE: SketchUP 2015 Network License
Elisei,
Thanks for the suggestion, but you need internet access to check the license out! -
RE: SketchUP 2015 Network License
Elisei,
Thanks, but it's not so huge when you don't have unrestricted internet access.
It also means when internet access is down, no SKUP! -
RE: SketchUP 2015 Network License
Thanks for the replies.
We do have a network, and we've had a SKUP network license for years. We received our "free" upgrade to 2015 this month. The difference with this version over previous versions is that the license is internet, rather than fileserver, based.
The previous method worked without a hitch. -
SketchUP 2015 Network License
Has anyone else had a problem with the new internet based license network license model for SKUP 2015?
Our network security is set by Scottish Government standards, one being the ports required for the application to "see" the internet are blocked - and won't be opened.
Does anyone know a way round this?I've tried the local reseller, national distributer & Trimble direct, but no-one has come back with a solution to date.

RE: Arc convert? From .skp to .dwg
TIG/Allan,
Thanks very much for this tip, it works perfectly!
A note to others - if you export just the edges, arcs & circles will be translated into DWG arcs & circles.
If you export faces however, they are exported as a segmented polyface mesh. -
RE: Arc convert? From .skp to .dwg
TIG,
I don't have access to ACAD at the moment, but if you export your SKP model to a 3D DWG model, how do you flatten it - or am just a bit dense? -
RE: Import DWG file
SketchUP will not import some DWG information such as text, hatching dimensions, complex surfaces or dynamic blocks. Also, any information on the layouts are ignored.
Finally, curves are faceted when importing to SKUP. -
RE: Free rendering software(s) for Sketchup
Twilight Render v2 Hobby is now a fully featured free product, with a inexpensive upgrade to the full Pro version. Well worth trying.

RE: Draftsight
Sorry, I don't have any experience with DraftSight, but could you not import the titleblocks into DS?

RE: [Plugin] SketchUcation Tools 2.6
This a great plugin, especially the manager sections. I was wondering if the My Setup section could be explained in more detail?
I don't seem to be able to download directly from the PluginStore into Sketchup with the plugin (I blame our IT security), but no bother through my browser. I then install through the archive installer. So far, so good.
However, when I look at the My Setup, it doesn't note the Installed plugins. My profile is listed but Bundles has a solitary " (I'm presuming this is paid content).
All of these I'm not fussed about, but is there a way I can manually update the list of installed plugins, so the Updates list can be used?
Thanks again for sharing a great plugin. -
RE: Creation of thumbnails scene
Try turning off the create thumbnails in the scenes tab. Good luck!

Can you tell us your Internet speed?
It's fair to middling - part of a corporate network.
TIG's given me some homework to test - I'll give it a go at the end of the day.Tweaks worked, problems relate to our internet access setup

RE: [Plugin] SketchUcation Tools 2.6
I've always manually loaded up plugins, but the SU Tools seemed like a great idea.
It works well, but drags SKUP to a crawl, both loading the application and working - it just freezes for about a minute.
I thought it may be other plugins, so disabled them & restarted - no improvement.
I renamed the !SketchUcation_loader.rb to !SketchUcation_loader.rb! with the other plugins reactivated & all was well again.
The plugins are located at C:\Users*ME*\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins, with the Thea plugin installed at C:\ProgramData\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins.

RE: Problems importing autocad files
Check the settings in AutoCAD; perhaps you're working with a custom UCS? Export to an older format DWG (r14?) after exploding any dynamic blocks - SKUP doesn't like them.
ACAD curves do become faceted in SKUP. You can't apply any import settings to control this, & adjoining curves can be mismatched after importing
There is a FACETCURVE addition for AutoCAD which will segment the curves before export - but it isn't fool proof either. You'll just need to keep to square designs -
RE: Best Rendering Software
You seem to have a good basis with Podium & Vue. Perhaps you need to upgrade your PC?
If you have a 64 OS, it may be an idea to have a renderer separate from SKUP, as it remains a 32 bit application - which also limits the built in renderer package.
