Hi folks.
See this SU file for ideas, especially in retracing the profile. The rest is as the others have done it.

Hi folks.
With an imperial setting, the dot is used as a decimal separator to separate the integer and the fractionnal part of numbers like in 3.14. The comma is used to separate list items like 3.5,4.3,7.4 (like the ones you would put in the VCB).
Here in Canada, since we use the metric system, I use the same regional localisation as they use in most of Europe where the comma is used as the decimal separator like 3,14 and the semi colon is used as the list separator like 3,4;2,3;7,6. The only drawback is that I have to use the comma on the regular keyboard to input decimal numbers since the comma on the numerical keypad is seen by SU as a dot and produce input errors. I am baffled since Excel, for example, can cope with this and produce comma when I use the keypad dot (or comma) key.
I have pointed this to the SU programmers many years ago (at least three or four) and I have still to see a fix for that.
By the way, this is on PC. On the Mac, the DOT/COMMA key on the numerical keypad produce a comma and is seen by SU as a correct decimal number. I need to use the regular keypad semicolon to separate list items, which is OK with me.

Hi folks.
I love SU because it does'nt interpose itself between my ideas and the model being drawn.
Efficiency at its best.

Hi Ahr8tch, hi folks.
My answer given in Google groups at:
The Large Tool Set is an assemblage of the most used tools taken from the various Tool palettes. This set don't contain all the available tools.
My suggestion is to turn off this Large Tool Set and to turn on all the other Tool palettes that contain the tools that you normally use.
These palettes have a grab bar and they can be positionned around your model window to suits you needs.

Hi Jugganaut, hi folks.
If you have smoothed the edges of your I-Beam, all of them, you wont be able to push or pull the ends since it will be seen by SU as a curved face.
If this is the case, make hidden geometry visible and then unsmooth the perimeter of the ends. You will then be able to pull your beam to whatever length you want.

Hi folks.
When used on a surface, the Text Tool offer the area by default, using your base unit (square meters if you use meter and so on).

Hi folks.
I shall be there in the afternoon. I have the same question as Lewis, which hotel ?
Best regards.
Hi folks.
I dont see this behavior of "Follow me" as a bug. This is to be expected since, when "Follow me" goes from one segment to the next, it must rotate the profile as it goes.
If the direction change imply a rotation around only one axis, the profile will be reoriented around only this axis. Good for now.
If the direction change is done around two axis at the same time, like the ramp in a spiral staircase, a rotation around the third axis in unavoidable since all three axis must remains at 90° from each other.
What would be nice to have in a future version of SU would be some kind of modifier key that would allow the user to tell the "Follow me" tool to consider only one axis for rotation when doing the pull along the path.

Hi folks.
Just in case someone is interested in the Platonic solids (also called Pythagorean solids),
see these two SU file that show the relation between:
1 - The cube or hexahedron (6 square faces) and the octahedron (8 triangular faces).
2 - The dodecahedron (12 pentagonal faces) and the icosahedron (20 triangular faces).
For each pair, you can get from one solide to the other by joining the center of each faces to the center of its neighbors faces.
For the tetrahedron, you will get another smaller tetrahedron if you use this procedure.
In conclusion:
1 - You can get the tetrahedron and the octahedron from a cube (see previous posts).
2 - You can get the icosahedron from three intersecting golden rectangles each at 90° from the others two as was shown in a thread somewhere.
3 - You can get the dodecahedron from an icosahedron.
Thus, you can get all five solids with great precision using only basic SU tools and without using any mathematics.

Hi folks.
Some ideas on the "Cube" method in the attached SU file with an explanation on how to rotate the tetrahedron to have one side flat on the ground.
Hi folks.
I second Sicily. I was there in 2004, end of august, with my wife of sicilian origins. The country is nice, warm and dry. The weather was nice (no rain for nine days). Some beaches are superb (Eraclea Minoa). Sciacca Mare is also nice but much smaller. Try to hold the Basecamp near Agrigento where there are nice Roman temples dating back about 2000 years. Monte Pelegrino in Palermo is also a nice place to visit. From the top of the mountain you have a fantastic view of the Mediterannean sea and the Palermo Bay.
There are some very good restaurants and the food is delicioso. The pastry in Alessandria della Rocca propose excellent pastries.
I still need to visit the northeast coast (Etna, Taormina and the Messina strait, just to name a few spots).

Bonjour Limousin.

Hi John, hi folks.
Try orbitting or using any of the standard view so that the cutting plane is perpendicular to the observer. Disable perspective. After that, using a right to left Selection Window shall allow you to select all the geometries that are on one side of the cut and delete them in one shot, unless you have real short stuff that will need zooming in to clean-up.

Hi CalypsoArt, hi folks.
Did you save the file in the Templates directory, overwriting the previous one ?
Or, if you saved it with a new name to preserve the original template, did you point SU to use it as its default template ?

Hi folks.
I dont think it is a bug that SU is not able to punch through two surfaces at once. After all, how can the component be aware of the thickness of the wall. There is an infinite number of possible thicknesses.
However, a system could probably be devised to group two surface cutting components and allows, if the holes are identical and aligned, an automatic push operation to open up a coresponding hole with the side surfaces already drawn.
In the meantime, there are a few workarounds. I show 2 in the attached SU file.

Bonjour.
En complément à la réponse de Pilou:
Fenêtre Style --> Edit
