I run a PC so I don't know what this means, hopefully you do. But the standard response to this issue on a Mac is to "trash the plist" or p.list or something like that. That seems to do the trick for most Mac users. Chris

In the shadows setting box you want to check that "On Faces" is turned on. That is what your model looks like is missing to me. If that doesn't do it, could you upload the model? Chris EDIT: Ok, sounds good. Glad you found the problem

You can build styles manually, without the use of the Style Builder. You need to rename a copy of the style to .zip extension, to see how its put together. The strokes are dictated by a series of png files.

SketchUp is fully capable of doing so. (Wrong term though -- SketchUp uses 'drape' to describe something else. If you're searching the Users Guide, you don't want to search on that term.) You want to 'project' a texture onto the terrain surface. This is described in one of the Google video tutorials here: http://sketchup.google.com/gsu5vtvideos.html (#12, "Using images as signs") I've produced several textured terrains with projection, including a tutorial: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/cldetails?mid=2ff3fe050d0f83a549a70958796b8e8&num=50&scoring=d Hopefully, one of these models provides the help you need. Regards, Taff

Hi J, This is a know issue in SU (in fact you even got the "name" of it right), please, read this article about possible solutions. Also, if your model (area) should not be as big as described above, make sure there are no "stray lines" (resulted from sloppy drawing in a CAD program) somewhere far-raf away. Even a couple of cms/inches line fragments can cause this. Edit: the easiest way to find some remote stray lines that may be the "culprit" is to "Select all" (Edit menu or the "classical" Ctrl+A) and then zoom to extent. You will see odd selections far away (provided that you are in an editing context of a possibly grouped geometry).

I presume you are a Vectorworks user which has a tool function that does this. You might look at the Skin.rb which can do some of the same thing. http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=153&t=1534&p=23813&hilit=skin#p23813

@j_forrester said: Thanks for the replys, as for the second request I was trying to extrude multiple polygons in one go instead of having to extrude to a specific height then have to double click the next polygon to extrude to the same height. Basically I wanted to be able to pick say 1o different polygons and extrude them all in one go. Thanks again. Sounds similar to what I had requested in this post http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=4606 A partial solution would be to explode the polygons (components) and extrude (move command, actually) them. Sorry to only offer a partial solution!

Each script usually contains in it some copyright and/or license clause. Most scripts (if not all) that are available from that website are free to use for personal or commercial use - but read the script itself to be certain. You can open the script with a simple text editor. Occasionally, the author will encrypt a script so you can't read it. If that's the case, then from your perspective, consider it free to use. Also, be sure to check out http://www.smustard.com for several commercial grade scripts. Todd

Thanks Dylon, Turned out my mouse driver was not installed on my new computer. Wasn't sure if it was in the program itself at first but thanks for the prompts. Works very well now.

Hi J., Here's the link to the ruby (at Smustard's). If you end up with a bunch of codes displayed on your screen, well, that's the ruby script itself. Just copy all, insert it into a plain text editor (not Word or such) and save it to your Plugins folder under your SU Application with the exact name and the .rb extension. I'm also moving this topic from here if you don't mind for it does not seem to be a tutorial...
