Seeded/Straw glass
I need a semi-transparent seeded/straw glass material i can use for some furniture drawings.
A quick search of this forum yielded nothing.
Any help, please? I probably need this by the end of the day today.
Thanks!!

RE: Material Edit/usage
Ya-hoo! I got it to work!
This will help the appearance of the cabinets I have been drawing.
However, this could be problematic with cabinets with multiple components, which leads to my next question... how can I modify the material file so there is one "standard" and one that is rotated 90 degrees? This would be a time saver to me, instead of having to click on each component that has incorrect grain, and then rotating them the way Alpro and James described.
Thanks for all of your help!

RE: Material Edit/usage
Remus, Ahhh have to have a material already on, I got it!
James, Yes, like that, but can you please elaborate a bit more on how to do it? I went into the component, selected the surface, and right clicked, but dont see "texture position", though.
Thanks for your time!

Material Edit/usage
http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=5895&p=34679&hilit=MATERIAL#p34679
Gai said to use edit tab, this did not work for me (using default set of materials) It switches over but they are all greyed out.
Now, my question which is sort of related to this, but isn't, is how can I edit it and create 2 different materials, one going horizontial and one vertical so I can create "true grain direction" materials? I am a chippie, thus the desire for this 'authentic' drawing.
Basically, all I want to do is use the SU's default material, but have 2 verisions of the material, one as it is, and one that is rotated.
The material graphic file is one that is not supported by anything I have on my computer (I am not very file ext savvy, I only know jpg and bmp thats about it), so I don't know how to edit it, the "Create material" tool is limited, and I did not see any rotate option in the greyed out edit tab either.
Or is there a way to change the direction that the material is applied to a surface?
Any tips, please?
Thanks!

RE: FireGL Issues
No difference if I use Fast Feedback or not.
Any more ideas?
Thanks,

RE: FireGL Issues
I did not see an power supply indication on the Belarc site. I also am not sure how this would fix my problem- it does not give me a recommendation to "upgrade" or "fix".
I'm sorry Juju, what is PSU? (Power supply Unit?) And would this possibly be why I am having issues, the power supply?
Thanks~

FireGL Issues
Recently got a new computer (GeForce2, 512 RAM on old one, yegods)
XP Pro SP2
Intel Core2 Duo E6750 2.66 GHZ
2 gigs of ram
ATI FireGL V5600(no clue on power supply, how can I check on that w/o cracking open the CPU case?)
Fire GL I thought would work alright (cpu was ordered before I knew ATI was bad for SU) with SU. As per http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3966
Out of the box SU was rotating nicely, was working slow when moving/drawing (small, not complicated drawing) So I turned off Hardware Accelration after some research. This helped with both rotating and drawing.
However, I am having issues within large, complicated drawings- I turn on Hardware acceleration, panning, rotating is smooth, but working within the drawing, i.e. moving, drawing, etc... is jerky, choppy.
When I turn off H/W Acc, the opposite is true, rotating is jerky, but working within the drawing is reasonably smooth (may not be for some)
Would switching to Nvidia give me both smooth functions?

Thanks for the replys, as for the second request I was trying to extrude multiple polygons in one go instead of having to extrude to a specific height then have to double click the next polygon to extrude to the same height.
Basically I wanted to be able to pick say 1o different polygons and extrude them all in one go.
Thanks again.
Sounds similar to what I had requested in this post http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=4606
A partial solution would be to explode the polygons (components) and extrude (move command, actually) them.
Sorry to only offer a partial solution!
