    • RE: Hide Blue Axis Only

      nice idea Jim.
I was also thinking the other day it would be nice also to be able select a function so that faces do not close in. Then if drawing in 2D (eg: construction detailing) may read better and be faster to work with. This coupled with your idea may be a solution to drawing in 2D (with perspective turned off that is).

Maybe a 90deg page rotation tool in the 2D direction could work also?

I have to leave the working out of this to someone else ofcourse, but what do you think?

    • RE: [Tutorial > Modeling] Saving time by reusing completed works

I have done a similal thing and made roof & wall sections at variuos roof pitches.

The sections are a little over detailed so I can position them exactly where I want, but then I delete the internal bits of the roof construction that I dont need and normally just retain the perimeter (or group any brick veneer). I then copy and paste the perimeter of the floor slab to each group so I can use the tool to complete most of the work as seen here http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=13958&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=60#p109543

    • TEXTURES_Linear

I have made some textures by manipulating the lines only on a face, simply to do and came up with some nice effects which I saved as .png images. An easy way to grap these textures is to dwnload model, open up materials, materials in model, then drag and drop them into the folder below where you want them.

Hope you like them, I do have them as grey colours but chnaged them for the post, you can change to suit anyhow.

PS to make these images I drew 2 lines 1mm apart. Then I divided the 1mm line up 16 times, then copied the lines 16 lines 100 times. This gave me the images the various images which are great for a METAL or TIMBER appearance.

There is a NEW STYLE in model here to from SU7 library. ๐Ÿ˜ I love it my favourite.

      Aprox 9 textures.

If Im right it looks like you can select components and use a Profile builder similar to the "follow me" tool to drag components along a line or path. Imagine how fast one can draw a basic house model if adopting a similar idea here.

Attached is a brick house follow me example.

Utiler: are you saying you dont want this? ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Icon definations?

I would like to someone to epxlain to me the meaning of the different icons in this forum as I dont want to use my brain to figure it out for myself. (sound familar) ๐Ÿ˜†

      . blank page with (i) = locked
. blank page with nothing = no new posts
. page with su pencil = new post
. blank page with black left pointing arrow = moved topic
. page with black "s" in middle = no new post?
. page with black star top left = ?
. page with su pencil and red star top left = ?
. blank page with tag at bottom right = ?

      etc, etc.

Maybe the newbies can have this explained on there section?
