Hi there,

I started out a year ago and made got together a lot of photos, SU images etc and wrote content in word. I then reduced image sizes as small as poss. and input all content into SU "Layout" A4 size docs which I then exported in pdf format. Now I have a company profile thats 15 / A4 pages full with images and 8.4megs which I can email if required.
I then put content into web and now update in http://www.blogspot.com often as I can.

This is a Barn drawn for a client of mine in New Zealand. Unfortunately Im not sure whether he is going to crack on with the project, so its still on the drawing (sketchup) board at the moment.
In New Zealand our climate varies depending where you live. The site for this barn is suited in the lower half of the North Island and can experience weather as low as - 5 / 6 deg. and extreme highs up to the mid 30's.
The insulation of this barn was considered to be the driving factor (as well as the budget)so a R5.0u insulated ceiling and a R3.5u insulated external wall was shown in the construction doc's.
Id be happy to post .skp model as is (uncompleted) as model went to into CAD production. A point to note though - use the outliner to group and stick with modeling everything on layer 0. (except furniture or decorations / trees etc).

A quick sample of my photo matching, this was done in SU6 in about 1 hr straight from an origonal photo, can give clients a very good ex. of what there addition looks like.

I had to model the letterbox, fence and tree in foreground then locate in photomatched model. The picture probably needs fixing up in photoshop / gimp or similar to take some edges of.

To the Google SU team.

Please consider this function in SU8 next time a release is due. This is a brillant 3D sketching tool undeveloped, but operational with a tablet for sketching in 3D.

My guess is that if google doesnt snap this function up someone other 3D CAD production software company will and fast?

Congratulations Google for finally releasing SU7 (@last)

Does anybody yet have a list of the new features of SU, Layout2 and Style builder?

In my second hour of exploring SU I havent yet fully explored everything but Layout is looking like its had a little improvement, a few extra new Styles added in SU to, but think I will hold my breath until Ive seen the full new / upgraded features list.

Hi all,

A couple of my tricks to speed up the whole process.

1. Copying or overlaying jpeg image. Draw a line around entire perimeter untill it closes in. Delete fill. Then draw the wall into the appropriate position on the plan and use the "followme tool" to create all exterior walls. Done
2. Interior walls. Make standard width wall (in plan only)and group it. make several copies for each wall needed. then group the lot. Grab one grouped wall and place in position, open the group and stretch it as req'd. Do this to all walls then finally ungroup all walls and push / pull to correct height.
   3.cut in window openings by scaling off plan.
   4.Make all windows on a single plane face and grouped(they dont need to be 3D in most cases) A cad drafting program will do that. Doesnt solve your cutting plane issue but saves a *&^% of time. If you want you can move your windows into the wall of the building by selecting all windows on each elevation then moving them in all at the same time, this gives you additional depth, or you can add cills to your window if needed.

I said, 'WHAT??!! What was that?!'

So she says the words that every guy on the planet dreads to hear...

'You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man.'

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, 'Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?'

Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep.

The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfit s. She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, 'Lets get a pair for each outfit.'

We went on to the jewellery department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you... she was so excited. She must have thought I crazy or had won lotto or something. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis

I think I threw her for a loop when I said, 'That's fine, honey.' She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation, she finally said, 'I think this is all
dear, let's go to the cashier.'

I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, 'No honey, I don't feel like it.'

Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled, 'WHAT?'

I then said, 'Honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman.'

And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, 'Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?'

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either....but at least Maree knows I'm smarter than her.]

granted, you are now nice sometimes, in fact you will be so nice by helping somebody in need (just once, every day) that you will not make it back to what you were doing until the next day, and then you'll remember that you have to be nice again, and so on and so on!

I wish I had a heard of elephants so I could stample down apon on thee with furious vengeance and retaliation all those people who I dislike (now be very careful what you say).
