If you want to have different contours on your way from contour A to contour B, Fredo's CurfiLoft is a great option...

RE: SubD examples and models
... another SubD model test launch
of course the rocket itself could have been done with SU´s follow me tool but not the merging of the rockets torso and the wings. Without SubD's crease tool, the shown black-white pattern would not be that straight but wavy somehow ...[The flames of the rocket boosters (which are cut-out PNGs) are made as Face Me components]

RE: SubD examples and models
Hi - to get any first experiences I did a little testing, mainly based on Cottys SubD_04 model above. I was interested on how an existing texture behaves to the SubD process - it's amazing how confidently and fast that works ...
Cotty, how did you get this rainbow-colour on that subd23 chair which looks so great - is it texturing?

RE: SubD examples and models
Hi All
I've finally found the time, to install and start SubD, which runs very well so far and I love it already. I am glad as well, that SubD is finally here and has caused all these contributions which are great, even funny and educational all together. Now I'm working my way through all your contributions and the exercise models that you have posted here. Cotty and all the others - thank you all for posting them!!!
I understand why it is better to use quad faces instead of triangulation, even if I'm light years away to understand the connections to (for example) Quadfce tools and how or when to use these additional "Quad" tools - I´m starting to learn :- ))
Here is a first simple question
I show an example of Cotty - How is it possible to get this shown SubD-quad-mesh visible?
(I see the creases only and when I activate show hidden geometry, I see the creases and the triangulation of course)

RE: Danish Chairs and Table

now the table has become part of a very nice and lightly(?) furniture set.
A good job!
Amazing how filigran the small joint is between armrest and backrest... -
RE: Revised Desert weekend home

These are nice pure SkUp-pictures indeed. I love your warm materialmood.
This desert place seems to be very lonely? - is this a real project?I had to laugh A little about your description "...with...water closet"
because I hope that the closet has water at least
Will there be a rendered version? Anyway, thanks for sharing this work

@macker said:
No, as per the previous I have ruled out the surface normals direction.
"...the surface normals direction..."
it took me time to translate and realize that you mean the frontface-backface thing.
I mistook this sentence with something like orthogonal/perpendicular... -

the faster way is to symply pick the "tile 1x" option from tru-paint right click menu.
(or, if you prefer, type in your vcb "1*" which actually will lead to the very same result)thanks for pointing this out
some "not every day" things one forgets so easily

RE: Push/pull double click wrong direction
hmm, not sure if that's what you're asking.
The only reason I know for your described push-pull behavior is that su backfaces extrude in the opposite direction at the double-click method...

RE: Quick way to properly UV map cylinder section?
Hi Derei, I hope, that is what you are looking for
Fredo Tools / ThruPaint is a perfect tool for mapping, adjusting and even scaling or
rotating any texture on your cylinder.
Before doing so, adjust the size of your texture as desired so that it appears as
a already "fitting" material in your SU material window ...http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=FredoTools

RE: Some of my works in Sketchup

Since my boys no longer play with LEGO (a few years meanwhile and I really miss these times), I am no longer LEGO-up to date.
Are these existing (and buyable) LEGO kits or have you designed them by yourself? Whatever your answer is - respect, a great job and I agree with Cotty - well presented.Just for fun - here is Gandalf as we do not yet have seen him ;- ))

RE: Copying of Window Components
Thanks Dave for your very fast answer and testing!
This "cutting" method is not my usual workflow but this method could have been very helpful to speed up my current project - a great pity.
Since my question here refers to a very old basic SU workflow it's interesting that this "one face limitation" has not been mentioned so far...I tried a little further now (please see case [3] below)
if you select a whole bunch of windows from one face and copy this bunch on a different face, the whole thing works this way at least
and will help me to get along and probably all this is the normal behavior, which I did not use so far...Thanks again

Copying of Window Components
Hi all, I have a question which I´m almost ashamed to ask it here

It is a simple thing to create a window component. Is it just as simple to copy this window component on the same wall (please see case [1] below).
If I copy the same window component onto an other wall and try to copy both window components as done in case [1], this operation doesn´t seem to work (please see case [2] below).
Didn´t I understand any SU-principle or do I make any other mistake?
Since I have to handle an incredible number of windows on as many walls next week, I hope someone can give me a hint to my stupid question - thanks!

RE: How to show full shadow toolbar
Hi
I´m running SKP 2013 Pro and SKP 2015 Make. In both tools it is working as shown above.
Perhaps there is any shadow tool change in 2016 which I had not expected?sorry that I could not help but for sure there are plenty people out there being able to help...
