Danish Chairs and Table

A while back I came across this table and drew it to work out how the top is attached to the legs. Today I came across matching chairs. Since I used components for the table, it was quite simple to modify a copy of the table into the chair.

It's a metal band bent into a U with a threaded pin passing through under the arm rest into the frame of the back rest. From what I can see, it looks like and afterthought to me. Not well designed. The position of the backrest is supposed to be adjustable. I don't think it's really designed to be used, though.
