      About time you posted again.

      Yet again fantastic stuff.

Very very very realistic. The lighting/tones are perfect to me for realism.

Only thing is using that lighting as realistic as it is, presents a cold picture.
      The mood is dulled abit.

But you really do set the benchmark for me. These will join other vray legends work in
      my inspiration folder.

      all the best

    • Photoshop Question

      Hi all

Hope someone will be able to answer a PS question for me.

Im used to opening a PNG (Vray output) in PS and having the Alpha channel cut out (transparent) on the same layer

But when I save image as a EXR, it opens in PS with a Alpha channel.

Can somebody point me to a good tutorial or tell me how to use the Alhpa channel to cut out or make transparent background.
Like a PNG exported from Vray with a VFB Alpha

Hope the picture explains it better

    • OpenEXR Question

      Hi
This isn't a directly a Vray question. But hopefully someone here maybe able to help me.

I Have rendered out an image about 7400x5550. So had to save file as VRimage.
I then converted to a EXR file.
Normally I have been using a programme called "Image converter plus" to convert to PNG.
It seems the image is to big and crashes this programme.

I restently bought CS3 so downloaded the pluggin "OpenEXR" I followed the tutorial
and put the file into the CS3 pluggins folder. But when opening a EXR file no "Import EXR settings"
appears. The EXR file opens in CS3 but is completely washout (overexposed)

So I guess the pluggin is not working for me.

Has anyone had this problem or knows a work around?

    • RE: Interior Render using VRAY

Its been enjoyable watching this image get better and better. (ASGviz fourms)
      Great improvement.
Pyroluna has mentioned everything that I was going to. The only other change would be to
increase the reflection on the chrome lamp shade.

      Thanks Jason
It maybe my first night render, but I spent alot of time on it. Not at all a profitable job. But great learning experience. At least I'd be able to do the same job in a third of the amount of time next job.

      Hi all
Thanks for your time and comments. Ive tried to include them in my new render. Really not happy with the sky. I know what I want, just havent been able to find the perfect image on the internet. Its abit of a cross between the two.
Look forward to hearing your comments.

holmes1977 can You share camera settings? Focal dist. angle of view etc?

      Hi Aidus

In SU my FOV = 35%

      In Vray Camera settings

      Shutter Speed + 125
      F number = 11
      Film speed = 125

      All the rest is standard.

    • RE: Vray's Limitation is SU (not a new statement)

You were total right about the IR settings

Im now rendering double the size of the last render at 4096x3072
and it is using a whole 1gb less memory.

I didnt realize that it would make that much difference.

Have you had any experience in printing large images. If you have, what
output size do you think I would need if I wanted to print to 1.2m x 2m?

Thanks again for your help Thom

      Sorry Thom for being vague
      The Vray version is 1.48.66

It dosnt say what version Vray is in the options anymore
So had to hunt for the installer.

Ive finished work and am about to test changing the IR settings.
