Seems to work when you first apply the vine on the side of the face you want the vine to go. You get that blue cast and the vine logo and then rotate it from there. You have to move it around a touch and then it goes on the right face. I applied it first on a wall just now and you then have to rotate it 90 degrees and pull it back for the blue cast to show up. If that all makes sense I don't know.

RE: Bremer bay house render
Looks great, L i am. I seem to be doing a lot of free renderings as well lately. Mostly for practice. Sometimes I show it to the architect I do drafting for and doesn't go further than that. I guess after outsourcing we're all just waiting for AI to take over the universe. IMO most of the AI "art" I've seen looks like an illustration for the cover of a supermarket romance novel.

RE: Another House in D5
Thanks guys. I modeled the entire house including the windows and doors with the help of a plugin. That was tedious. This was before Flex Tools. D5 Render has those nice procedural vines. Only problem with that is they change every time you open up the file.

Another House in D5
Originally modeled for a NPR render in 2011 for Chalet Colorado. I reworked the model and rendered it here in D5 Render.
This was the original render generated in SU with some Photoshop work.

White Houses
A duplex pop-top (2), a landmark addition, and a simple ADU (accessory dwelling unit) in respective order done in D5 Render. Repeated landscaping but they're only supposed to be viewed on their own. Once again I did this mostly as a hobby but I did do a lot of CAD drafting for these.

House: Re-Render from 2009 to Today
Howdy,
This is a model that I rendered back in 2009 in SU and Kerkythea. Fast forward to 2024 and here's a re-render and re-work using D5 Render. Foggy, dark and moody. I could keep working on this forever but sometimes good enough is just good enough. I have dozens of these models that I did for Chalet Colorado.

RE: Water in D5
Looks fine to me. Only post processing was some cloning for the foam along the left side.

Water in D5
Decided to play with a stream topo using Vertex Tools and came up with a composition to experiment with in D5 with various elements.

RE: Nvidia Card Causing System Freezes?
Joe, OK, but make sure and get it replaced since you paid for it.

RE: Nvidia Card Causing System Freezes?
Joe, I built my own desktop and had a few hair raising issues along the way.
I don't know how to check for PSU wattage other than a physical inspection or maybe your computer documentation. It could be a faulty PSU or not enough power. I recommend a minimum of 750 watts.
I was thinking it could be a faulty GPU in either the processors, chip, or even thermal paste issues. You can check temperature with MSI Afterburner which you can find on the internet. Just use it for reading the GPU temperature and avoid it for overclocking.
I've had driver issues with my RTX 3060 but that usually just involved the screen going black for a second and re-setting. I typically uninstall the Nvidia Driver direct from Windows and then use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode to uninstall the drivers. Make sure to check "Prevent download of drivers..." at the very bottom under options. I only install the display driver from Nvidia since I don't need the rest.
It doesn't sound like a driver issue. Something is likely wrong with the GPU itself. It's like winning the lottery only a bad one. Reinstalling the OS for this issue was unnecessary.

RE: Road Test
Thanks guys.
You'll need:
Sandbox Tools
Vertex Tools
Fredo Curviloft
Align Ends
Fredo Thru PaintQuadface Tools to add more loops. Optional.
Profile Builder 3 for guardrails. Optional.
Sandbox tools is default SU. I just used SU arcs for the roadway plan.
If you're interesed in D5 you should be able to do something similar with their free version.
I'm going to put together a narrative as soon as I can for what I did.

What's the wattage on your power supply?

So cool, frozen mate.
Thanks Mike. Saved me from doing 100 entry inputs on Blender. I really wanted to get this down for once.

Road Test
Finally honed down a process for creating quads on a roadway surface on terrain in Sketchup. It mostly involved Vertex Tools, Fredo’s Curviloft and Thrupaint.
The terrain is just a random surface I created with SU’s native tools and Smoove. It’s a variation on what I learned from a video by 3D Artistree on Youtube.
Mostly involved SU work and I hope I can remember every step I used.
This is a D5 Render.

RE: Twilight Render Sunset
Majid,
Doing renders. From my own personal experience.

RE: High Rise
Thanks Mike.
Change of mood here with all white building. Easily changed of course. Fits the tropics. Might look like a Florida condo. The pic with the horizontal slats is for bird impact prevention.
