and yes my preferences is set to auto backup every ten minutes and in any other event i always find a backup after a crash, like stated i had started the file in 2014 perhaps this is why it did not auto backup

I have been working on a really complicated clad structure with retractable walls and roofs for a client
I had not backed this file up in a few days......last night auto reboot the whole company
yes yes i know dumbass .......

i really want throw this computer down the stairs right now and scream bloody murder.......

the problem this did not auto-backup i believe is because i started the concept in 2014-SU and have since been using 2015 with the original 2014 model

I really am just complaining

Layout at times kills me when trying to dimension a isometric

It would be a great advantage to be able to set a dimensions angle to snap across a reference line or parallel to the model as sketchup can

Perhaps i am missing something any suggestions?

I remember some time back there was an issue with thumbnails causing explorer crashes.
Try looking for ThumbsUp.dll in the sketchup directory at C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015 and renaming it to OldThumbsUp.dllx so that it wont be recognised and see if that fixes the problem. You might need to reboot.
If it doesn't work change the name back before you forget.

Just my 2 cents for preventing crashes if you have a rather large layout file that has a custom scene
....."you created it from your viewport window and it is not a saved scene from your model"
it took me hours to figure out why any time i tried to relink or update a model reference ....it was that one custom viewport not saved as a scene

any how i just wanted to share that ......if this has been posted or pinned pointed out in here all ready "stop yelling at me"

another workaround i use is to create a 2 sided box with faces around where you are trying to zoom in, the closed in faces at times help if you eliminate background, "if that makes sense to anybody"

i was starting to think i was out of line, the thing is SU is not the only 3D software we use, and i don't have those problems with say turbocad

i know how to work around it, but it can become a real frustrating thing when trying to create faces by zooming in to correct a small error, my favorite workaround is the rotated rectangle ....kind like a fix pasting over the whole area, i find myself getting to picky trying make everything perfect

sometimes the work a rounds adjusting the field of view work, moving parts of your model away from other geometry, putting stuff in layers etc, with all due respect sir i am far from superior and i am learning everyday but i use SU almost 5-6 days a week ...if a may along with 10,000's of user call it a bug

This is a known issue called Camera Clipping Plane. First, don't worry; although it can be distracting, this doesn't cause any actual damage to your model.
