It's caused by too many (or certain) plugins. Not too long, just 5 pages all, so go through and identify which plugin you need to remove/change etc.

      Thanks..got it.

    • Right clicking

Hi everyone, I just had an issue about the right clicking in sketchup. When I right-click a group object, the edit group was not highlighted or when I right-click a texture, the texture and other commands or plugins was not in highlighted mode. Anybody came across with this issue? I thought of re-installing the program and I did., but still the issue was there.

Thank you for your attention and suggestions. I hope to find an answer..

You should really decrease the amount of segments of arcs and radius and use components as often as possible ( my model is only 440 KiB and could be reduce).

      Just for the pleasure.

For this, Tgi3D's latest released terrain tools can be useful. See topic http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=41062&p=363876&hilit=tgi3d#p363876. Training version and/or 30 day trial is free.

You need to follow mac1's advice too. Make a component from the repetitive blocks of the railing. First draw the railing on flat ground. ( I used Chris Fulmer's component stringer on the small block with the projection of the railing path to the ground plane. The path is also resampled at regular intervals matching component width). Then I drew a surface using channel extrude (you could use follow and keep as well I suppose) and I set that surface as the mapping target. Finally I used map to terrain on the railing using affine mode. The nice thing here is that the component hierarchy is preserved, i.e you can further edit the block component and it will be reflected to the whole of the design (check the attached skp file).

Hi Oganconali, This is beautiful.. ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ฎ amazing..Thank you so much, for your time. Consider this is done, I still need to do few tweaks to match the design.

it is the follow me and keep plugin.

      very easy to use.

Thanks P...I like that plug in too. But I need that railing to follow the curve. See the SKP attachment..Thanks

Have not tried to make the railing yet but some observations for your consideration.
The railing has a very high number of groups make from the same entity. You have a possible large model and need to consider how to keep the model size down as you model or you will have some down stream problems with "slowness'. One way to help is to use components as much as you can. Suggest you watch the youtube tuts on that subject and factor that into your model while you have this " early" chance.
      Just some thoughts

      Thank you Mac1

I didn't realize that I had some hidden groups till you mentioned about it. I did watched some tuts in youtube with some are very informative and useful too in a simple manner.Thank you for your thoughts

Ah! I see it right there, a folder named "QuadFaceTools - (0.4.1)". When downloading the plugins, copy the content of the zip files to the plugins folder, do not let the extracter wrap it in another folder.

      I got it right this time... ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜Ž Thank you

That's your problem right there. That TT_Lib2 - 2.6.0 should contain a TT_Lib2 folder, and that is the folder which should be in the plugins folder. Note the footprint which is described for both TT_Lib and Bitmap to Mesh.

...though you should have gotten an error message when you loaded SketchUp when Bitmap to Mesh failed to load TT_Lib2. ...unless that also is wrapped in a folder...?

Hi Thom, Problem solved...Thanks so much, ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ โ˜€ one of my favorite plugin....

You haven't made the 'flight' of stairs the right size/form ?
This 'balustrade' - does or span the whole flight or just each tread etc ??
Once you have resolved the flight's form etc, then look at ShapeBender by ChrisFullmer...

Thank you Sir for the quick reply. That balustrade could be every 4 steps or whatever the right proportion is. Assuming that design is possible or I can use other design.
I hope I can get the procedure on how to create in curved or spiral.
