Well, I was going to say that if your edges are not standalone (but form faces), you can always duplicate them (but it doesn't work) Edit the group/component go to wireframe mode and with a selection rectangle (no double/triple clicking) select the edges only copy them, close the group/component and paste in place (this is in the edit menu). Now they will exactly overlap the ones inside the group/component but will be outside of it and as such, standalone ones so should export just fine. Make sure to include these and the original group/component into a new, parent (face me?) component. BUT it seems that the converter will merge all colinear edges no matter what the hierarchy is. That will get your edges through: Bamboo.kmz

Well,they are talking about archaeological reconstructions here. A reconstructionof a ruinous building however is not only about reconstructing what you have now but what you could have hundreds or thousands of years ago - and you cannot photograph that. I could however find an exciting idea here to create bump (and/or) displacement maps for renderings. This is all - after all - about the surfaces, not the buildings themselves.

looks pretty interesting, i suppose if you had a bit of time to mess around with it you could place SU (or similar) models into the image

it might not be hugely accurate to start with, but you could always trace the building then export it to SU and resize it to improve the accuracy. would be a lot faster for doign very complex models. always got the limitation of finding videos of the buildings though

Thanks Gai, I kind of figured that would be the best way after toying a little last week. Stamping a slanted face will definitely be the easiest way. Great example, that's pretty much what I was looking for.

Dider hasn't updated his plugins to work with the newer Ruby version. TIG has edited a few and you can find them in the Plugin Store. I don't think this is one of them, though. I fixed it load by changing unpack("m").to_s to unpack("m")[0]. It still doesn't appear to work, though.
