Anybody seen this video yet?

Videotrace is software for tracing 3D models from objects in a video. Kind of like the video version of SU Photomatch. Software is currently being beta tested.
A bit about the project: http://www.acvt.com.au/research/videotrace/
Couple this technology with the rumor about Google technology to read text in video and it gets even more interesting, eh? Whizbang!

I saw it this morning, got it from a link on Jim's website.
Seems quite promising. I downloaded the 6MB PDF document they have, they make mention of similar technologies but somehow they didn't mention SU Photomatch - I wonder why?

Good find Eric. Video Trace will be a very useful tool to have in the arsenal if it ever hits the marketplace.
I've read through the available stuff on it and signed up for progress reports so hopefully we will be seeing it launched in the near future. The link for signing up is, VideoTrace@acvt.com.au. in case anyone wants to be kept informed.
Mike
PS: I like the way they did the 'big iron ball crashing into the cars' in the video

as everyones said, lokks really cool. i cant help but woder how it works, though. ponder

it might not be hugely accurate to start with, but you could always trace the building then export it to SU and resize it to improve the accuracy. would be a lot faster for doign very complex models.
always got the limitation of finding videos of the buildings though
