How come the text between the dimension lines disappears?
Not all of the text vanishes after a few minute break. Perhaps the file is too complex. I have six scenes and 30 dimension lines.

Thank you Ansi. BullZip and the import text as curves worked well.
Can one show edges in some objects and not in others? Or is it all or nothing using View/Edge Style/Edges?
Thank you, JQL.
after checking the object carefully, I realized that there was another object/colored layer on top of it. After deleting it, the shadows appeared as they should.
Can one make a shadow translucent...so that the material underneath it is visible?

Twilight render does this. They plan to fix that.
Thank you for your response, pbacot. Can't figure our how to uninstall Twilight. Searched my whole computer, but it's not to be found. Yet it is located in Extensions/Twilight V2.
Thank you for your response, TIG. "Try disabling some Plugins to see if the prompt stops...""
Also, I uninstalled all of my plugins, but still get the dreaded "Save changes to Untitled?"
Thank you for your response, driven. "if you open a new model and have a look in 'Materials in Model', 'Components in Model', 'Layers' and 'Outliner', you may find the culprits input..."
Can't find 'Materials in Model, 'Components in Model' in a new model. 'Layers' and 'Outliner' are as they are supposed to be, I suppose.
Why does Sketchup ask me every time when I open a file "Save changes to Untitled?"? I didn't make any changes to Untitled and am not interested in Untitled. All I want to do is open a file.
luckyvac, thank you very much. Clear and informative.

Make sure you are deleting the correct ones and that you don't have a second plugin folder.
The default location for SU2014 is
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014\SketchUp\Plugins
Box, thank you. I didn't think to look in C:\Users\. I had only looked in the place where I installed the program and deleted the plugin, but it kept reappearing.

I do not often use this export option but it seems to export vector based data which does not contain shadows. May I assume that if you have pdf export options, you also have SU Pro? In this case, you could send your model to LayOut and export from there in hybrid mode which will make your edges vectors but materials (and shadows) remain raster so you get the "best of both".
Thank you for this suggestion. Yes, one does get the "best of both".
Sorry for the very basic question. How does does one output in hybrid in Layout? I only see options for PDF, images dwg/dxf. Is PDF called "hybrid"?
TIG, thanks for the advice to clean up the model.
I'm sorry, I still got the same results. I don't know how you were able to do it with the same model. Also, you mentioned before, "This means they do need to be in the same context, but then you could edit the container and select the face?" What does it mean "in the same context"?

What does it mean "in the same context"?
Thank you very much, Driven and TIG. Also, I exploded all the components and groups. It works wonderfully.
Dear TIG,
Your plugin looks like just what I need - to export vector (dwg or dxf) with shadows. I am drawing technical illustrations with fine lines and shadows. When I export them as a jpg or tiff and shrink them down, the lines get broken and don't print well. But, I can't figure out how to use your plugin. I keep getting this message even when I select a face. "You must Pre Select at least ONE Suitably Oriented Face!" I haven' projected a shadow yet. I even tried with some very simple models, but...
Can you please help me?
DJH
Should I keep all of my skp files? Don't they take up a lot of space? In other programs, one doesn't have a copy of every single file.

Sketchup 2015 doesn't seem to want to install a rb plugin, only rbz.
