There wasn't any official video done during the sessions so I expect that might be it.

@solo said: I like the idea, I think this could be a great solution for our future power requirements. I'm just concerned about driving on glass on a rainy/snowy/icy day however. Hey Pete, recycled glass is already used as aggregate in some road toppings anyway!

@unknownuser said: @barack said: Easy way:If you have Sp3 RC1, you could use a fixed joint connected to a hinged table. Just to clarify, there is a later revision than SP3 RC1. I believe it's SketchyPhysics 3x-Jun27 (or so the install file is named). I know. But Chris says it is a bit buggy, so for now, I'll stick with the stable.

FYI --- photofly is now on version 2.0 and the "free" trial has been extended to 12-31-2012. Never tried it last fall when it showed up on the forum, but I think I will give it a try and see how well it plays with sketchup. I plan to model my old house as a test and will post the results.

Why not something about my findings for animation in SketchUp. That way I could get both an invite and a paid travel.

Thanks Dave, I like your idea for the screws. @dave r said: ...As far as attaching the posts, I would set them into notched corners in the drawer case... Could you explain this further please? How would I make the case? I'll PM you the model as I have it so far for you to play with...I really do appreciate your help.

@unknownuser said: Brilliant images, what are you using to get the magnification? Or are they images from an electron microscope or something like that? Oh, I use a home-made snowflake photo-microscope (aka Sketchup, Twilight render, and a tad of Photoshop) Here's a Sketchup screenie...drawn and rendered 100% by me I did roughly base it on the real thing tho. 60% of households to have 3D displays? I've heard that we're all going to have 3D displays for years now, and there's nothing even at the top level of the end-user pipeline that even remotely suggests that we're going to have 3D displays. All the same, neat device; but I think the mouse is going to be here for a lot longer befire something else takes it's place.

I personally don't like things that have unnecessarily electronics inside and need much of energy. I could imagine that the keybard would work much longer than the hundred little screens in the keys. But neverthless the idea is fascinating. Maybe e-ink (like in e-readers) would be more effiient than lcd. The usefulness is another question. Many people are able to use their keyboard while looking on the screen. There are already concepts for notebooks without keyboard, but two touch displays.

Perfect! And free to boot Just for the record, I was trying to get it into DoubleCAD, so once I downloaded it I had to extract to my desktop, then copy to C:\Windows\Fonts and it was available once I restarted DoubleCAD. [image: Hayg_Capture.JPG]

Al, I've watched the Tut videos on Camera Match http://www.cgarchitect.com/news/newsfeed.asp?nid=4657 and it appears to me that Photo Match could be leveraged to do much the same if it had Camera Match's 'Masking with Polygons' feature plus the forced dimesioning feature. The attached are two screen shots of the 'Masking with Polygons' video tut showing the masked section being moved onto place, quite a neat feature Any Ruby Wizards interested in looking into a plugin? Mike PS: It might be an idea to split Camera Match if there is interest in discussing its features with a view to having similar ones in Photo Match?
