      Hello,
there was a post on this forum, where the author wrote about how to export all camera positions (scenes) from SKP and import them and use in VUE. But I can´t find that post anywhere. Could you help me finding it, or if you know, how to do, about what I wrote above, could you tell?

      Thanks.

    • RE: Drape error

I found some errors in file with lines and this file was imported from dxf format. I´m not autor of it. Some lines were not joint, sometimes there were small lines over the intersections. Could this be the problem?

TIG: I´ve got one question: How can one use signature in skp file, how you have it in your model posted in this topic?

      thanks. C.

    • RE: Tree substitution in VUE

Thanks for posts. I try to make a model of actual vegetation. It means, that I import a photo of terrain into sketchup, project it onto terrain made of contour lines and where I see a "green spot", there is a tree. So I placed a component onto the terrain on these spots and I would like to replace them with trees in Vue. Ii is truth, I could make the same direct in Vue.

    • Tree substitution in VUE

      Hello,
I´ve got a model of landscape done in Sketchup. Onto this model I have dropped a group of trees represented by spheres. This I exported via max file into Vue and I´m trying to substitute the balls by trees. But Vue always crashes. I think it is due to the low capacity of my computer.

So my question is: "Is there a trick, how to change a big number of components for another objects in VUE smartly?"

      Thanks in advance.

      Thanks!
But still too difficult for me. I do not know ruby scripting at all. 😄 I think I have to learn a lot about it. 😄

    • RE: In Need of a Plugin

      I need something similar: Imagine you have coordinates of points in space A[0,0,0] B[0,1,0] C[1,0,0] D[1,1,0] E[0,0,1] F[0,1,1] G[1,0,1] H[1,1,1]
These 8 points are part of cube. Is it possible to write a script, that would be able to make boxes (not only cubes) from series of points that are written in excel table? I mean it should find lines, close them and create faces between them.
      Thanks.

I´m landscape architect. My nick is a name of pine species (Pinus coulteri). This species has got the heaviest cones in the world. 😄

      @thomthom said:

Favourite and most-used isn't the same in my case.

My most used would be my own Selection Toys plugin. I've got the selection filters for Faces, Edges, Groups and Components assigned to hotkeys and I use them regularly all the time as I model.

My favorites would be TOS, JPP, SSB, Round Corners and FredoScale and Profile Builder.

Yes, I also use your selection toys and thank you for it... 😄

    • Which are your favourite plugins?

Hello! Which plugins do you use most? I´m landscape architect and use e. g. these ones:

sandbox, scale and rotate multiple, component spray tool, weld, copy along path, pipe along path, rooftool, joint-vector-normal push/pull, tools on surface, freescale, bezier spline curves, FFD, improved selection tool, Kerkythea exporter...

      And what about you? 😄

    • RE: Is this possible with ruby?

Actually, I can't write ruby script myself. I was only asking, if it is possible to do. 😄 I need to do a model of vegetation. I have a lot of shrubs planted in 1m raster and I watch how they grow for several years. That means I (will) have data from which I would like to generate number of boxes of various dimensions, and then I could use e.g. subdivide and smooth script to simulate the shrub population positions and shapes. It's only an idea.

    • Is this possible with ruby?

      Hello,
I need to construct a big number of 3D objects from parameters, that I have in excel table. Center of each 3D object's base has its own xy cordinates, next I have distance of northern, eastern, western, southern and top face from this centerpoint. So the ambition is to produce cube or rectangular parallelepiped. Is it possible to do this construction batch using ruby plugin?

      Thanks a lot.

    • RE: Displacement Shapes

Yes, I understand this. I just asked, if there is a method to create a displacement map from existing 3D object.... For example, if there is a ruby plugin, that is able to color the face according to its distance from zero position. Then it would be easy to export 2D raster and use it as a displacement map.
