what make it un realistic, in my humble opinion and being far from master in rendering, is the light sources!!! You use some lights but I cant see where they burst out from! Once you model the lights you must make them switch on so the feeling of lightning can give a warmer feeling!

      Ideas!

All looks awsome except two things, in my opinion! The first is the carpet (looks a bit flat) and the tree (it wont come out of the picture/ doesn't seem to be real!)
Great rendering and post processing skills!

    • RE: Autodesk 123D

Maybe its not our pc's that we ought to consider in order to use a soft like 123D. You can always upgrade to fit your needs. What You can't do, is save to skp format.so how could we use it? In what format could we work so we could import models to an app working with skp, obj, etc... I installed the program too to check it out, and I saw great potential in the way you can model things, but I believe our plugin gurus can add these features to SU.
      Just thoughts!

      Good morning mate!
Well what you are asking could be achieved in photoshop! You could render your model and then work a bit in photoshop, or gimp or other similar program you might know.

Thank U for your comments! This has been my second attempt to render a scene so I am quite pleased from your comments! I think you are right though about the light source... It doesn t look real enough! I ll be working on that and try to find my way around hdr images too!
      Thanks again!

    • Comments please!

Some days ago I decided to post a render I had done but endless hours at work made it impossible!
I would be more than happy if you posted some comments just to see if I am on the right way!

    • RE: What Tools (.rb) needed for bicycle building

I would suggest you to try with one piece at a time!As you said you just foolled around with SU so it might have been a good idea if you sketched on a piece of paper the parts (don't think dimensions mater... for the paper part) and begin from there! Difficulty is up to the designer.
TIG mentioned some great plugins that will surelly be very handy to help you model a bike and many other stuff you might want, but what you need to do first is learn as much as you can the basic tools.
Extra tip: Almost every plugin in SU is free and very powerfull too. This mean that there is a great number of different uses for every plugin so what you must do, in my humble opinion of course, is: learn every capability of any plugin you download!
One piece at a time mate...
Sketchucation is a great forum with even greater support!

IMHO, I'd like to see a little more contrast, and something that always bothers me are "bad tangents" like the background mountain lining up with the slat on the window. I know, it's no big deal, maybe bkgd should be slightly out of focus. very nice oveall. ๐Ÿ‘
      What render are you using?

You really saw a detail there, I wouldn't have seen it! But I guess I don't really mind... after all it could happen, couldn't it? For the contrast, I think you are absolutely right, it is kind od low lighted isn t it?Like, more light should come from that window! And the renderer is Vray

could mask out the window and easily brighten it....got a shaderlight feel to it, i'm probably wrong though.

Mask the window? How can I do that? Could you advise me on how to achieve that goal?
After my rendering completed there was NO postpro done on the scene!
      Thanks for the comments

    • Kitchen design

      Hi to you all.
Well after designing a lot of "this and that" , this past months, and no render, I decided to give it a go! So I modelled this kitchen (and one sitting room that I ll post later some time when my render completes)! After a few attempts and a lot of tutorials about rendering, it all came down to this! Please comment freely, as always! Comments and critic are always welcome!!!

Hi Jamalito! Well I have two answers for you, 1st if yo wanna get deep into SU I recommend you follow up the link to the tutorial: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=335&t=34736 (That would be a challenge wouldn't it?), and 2nd if you don't download it from the warehouse: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=509547de0380bdf8b7bcb6b716d03a58 , which by the way I did, too!

      Thanks so much TIG!
One question though: Is this gonna help exporting a model to other modelers with greater detail, is it just because quad faced geometry is better or both?
Downloaded already and I ll be checking for updates!!!!
      Again THANKS A BOUNCH!
