As far as I know, all you can do is turn off the terrain layer to get just the flat image. It would be nice if the terrain model could be properly imported and edited, though.

Was afraid of that. Not sure it can be used as a proper presentation tool if the Pro version cant solve this.

    • Google earth terrain problem

      Hi,

For the first time ever I have tried bringing a proposed building into G.E. to get some proposed views for planning consent (was going to upgrade to Pro to get high res image exports).
Anyway I seem to have hit a snag. The existing site has some large rocks on it that have been removed and also an old warehouse that's since been demolished. Both these still show up on Google Earth and they protrude up through my proposed model when I place it into G.E.
Is there anyway around this? I only need to flatten the existing terrain a little to hide them.

Very impressive Adam, love the materials. Is the depth of field an option in Lightup?

Never really considered LightUP before but that was seriously impressive!
Think I'll have to take a closer look at it.

Great! could have done with having this yesterday as I had a component in a model that 'follow me' just wouldn't work on.

disable 'redefine thumbnail on save' in 'model info - file'.
Saving is instantly again in any display mode.

Great tip, my large files now save within around 3 seconds compared to 20.

    • Interior design construction drawings

I've never really used Layout for anything other than very basic 2d elevations from sketchup models. I've been asked to do some interior design drawings as a sketchup model I did recently was very detailed and the client would like the interior detailed from them.

Does anyone on here use layout to produce interior construction drawings? Would I be able to learn layout quick enough or am I better off exporting my interior elevations to autocad this time and trying layout another day when I have more time? My deadline is Tuesday night, and there are quite a few room elevations to detail. Anyone seen any good examples of interior drawings created in layout?
