I actually kind of agree. This thread is getting way off-topic.

Oh. You must not have all the fonts I have πŸ˜• The top one is 5 stars, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1, then a skull and crossbones. πŸ˜‰ (That last one's just for fun)

      just to check... can you see these? β™« ♬ β™© β™ͺ ☺ β˜… β–ˆ ☠ ☣ ⚠ ☒ ⚑
(the first 4 are different music notes, then a smiley, then a star, then a square, skull & cross bones, bio-hazard, Warning sign, radioactive symbol, then a lightning bolt.)

I don't know what my best model is, but I've had some over 15MBs. the map on my "some of my stuff..." page is 9.8MBs %(#808080)[(i'm trying to get it acceptable for upload by the warehouse, it still isn't working though.)
A little bit of the model. More pictures on my page.

(BTW, that sketchyphysics art casino apartment was a joke 😎 you should change it so we can only pick 1 of the options in your poll.)]
BTW, DID you see my page? If you did, what did you rate it πŸ˜„

...see what I did? you set your poll to allow a person to vote on all of the above. πŸ˜„ So my vote is for you to make a sketchyphysics casino art apartment. you should change it to select up to 1 item, not 9.
BTW, you should check out my "Some of my stuff..." page.

I"m sure no one is intentionally being mean..this is the friendliest board EVER... but, you're not giving us much to go on.. your whole 3dwarehouse gallery even seems to be all by other artists... everyone says 'original by' and then reposted by you...dont really follow, sorry.

if you read it, i accually work on it -_- im not a thief like those other people i accually do stuff. my computer is 5 years old and SU crashes when i get something
"nice" i hope to get a CAD program and then import it into SU πŸ€“

      I tried.
I think I made it a bit too fat though... should have paid more attention to the image...
If you need it thinner, or less bent, I can make you a new one πŸ˜„

    • RE: To all newbies!

I've been using SU for 2 years now, and I've leaned a LOT by myself, and from users from the 3D warehouse, and now That I'm using the forum often, I'm learning the other half of sketchup I didn't know before: mostly, Plugins.

With FFD, subdivide, round edges by bezier, joint push-pull, and many other useful tools, It's almost like doubling the SU toolsets πŸ˜‰

They make modeling a lot faster, easier, and give great results πŸ˜„

    • Overly dark renders, and etcetera

I was wondering whether or not I could "qualify" myself as good enough to make a discussion about my stuff...
I decided I would. I might not be too good, but with all the pros on these forums, i figure i might get good.

I usually just mess around with SketchUp, and don't spend tons of time on large projects:
I tend to spend from 30 minutes to an hour & a half on my models, but when I do make large projects, I tend to spend several hours on them.

T really need some special trees for external work like: coconut, bamboo, palm, asch.... I easy to find 3ds or obj trees, but all of them is use for 3DS max, add to Sketch up very slow and often show as "error 3ds". Could you share me some really beautiful trees and useful Skp trees?

They aren't all that beautiful, but these trees might work.

I made them in sketchup, and got the textures from a video game making program (which I can't use) called Unity.

Here's some pictures of them being used in one of my models:

    • RE: White metal with rivets Texture.

I know. I use it all the time, mostly for metal & concrete textures, aswell as rock and some others.
It's too bad most of them aren't tillable.

Although, what most people don't realize, is that with just a bit of work, you can actually make some of the least tillable textures there tileable.

      @remus said:

      Yep, should work fine.

Normally, yes. Unfortunately, That's not the case for many of the rubys/extensions I've downloaded. The latest skin.rb, for instance, doesn't seem to run on macs. (although, the feature to clean up unnecessary lines still works)

    • Servo-less steering idea

I had an Idea for servo-less steering a while back, as a way to steer tanks and such. I though up a way to steer a tank using only 1 joystick, but I haven't had any time to test it, as I model with a mac. I'd like to see if anyone can test it to see if it works.

      Here's my idea:
Shows how the vehicle would be controlled. Middle controller shows how it would work, with both other controllers overlapping. (colour coded)
Every wheel would have 2 motors: one along the Y axis, the other, the X axis (of the same Joystick).
All wheels would have the same motor controlled from the Y axis, but the motors controlled by the X axis would be the opposite on the left than the right: one side would have Max. Axel be in positive value, the other side would be negative value.

What I'd expect this to do is that:
when you move the joystick left, the left side of the vehicle's wheels would slow down, and the right side would speed up, so the vehicle would turn.

Obviously I don't know if this would work or not, but I hope someone else can figure that out. πŸ˜„

It would also be extremely helful if someone managed to have it so that the red areas were "Reverse" instead of "Stop".

    • Material: stone + wood supports

I used one of the textures (the one on far left) found at this address: http://www.cgtextures.com/texview.php?id=8474&PHPSESSID=6c1a8d1215b26f52d4722c6c444ed848 to make a great mine/medival texture + bumpmap. I had to do a lot of image editing, mostly using gimp, to get the results I was looking for.

Here is the texture and bumpmap (bumpmap is also shininess map when inverted):
      Brick+wood2.jpg
      Brick+wood_bump.jpg
NOTE: The texture is tile-able horizontally, and although it is also tile-able vertically, it doesn't match up quite right.

πŸ‘ Amazing! This would be extremely useful for almost ANYONE using sketchup!

My only question is this: Will it work properly on macs? Almost 1/2 of the plugins I've found Don't.

    • RE: Prince IO Sketchup Game Demo

I have a mac running OSX 10.5.5, and for every frame, I encounter the error
      %(#808080)["newGroundz:
      value=>-5000<
TypeError: Value undefined (result of expression value.split) is not object."].
the error pops up first, i have to click enter, then next frame, same error, this repeat over and over, then the knight falls through the floor, screams, and SU messes up. Any idea why?

    • RE: [Plugin] Skin.rb

Using the Skin rb., running SU7 on Mac OSX 10.5.5, The plugin works almost not at all. The only action working is the one that cleans up the unnecessary edges. It will only work from the toolbar too. Also, I don't know if it's supposed to be like this, but there are no icons in the skin toolbar.
